    Agreed,

And since we are in a country where you are innocent until proven guilty, no one has been driving drunk on the Rockets.

Francis has been charged, but not found guilty.

As for Maurice, he has been caught smoking pot, and the chances are that he drove within 24 hours after smoking up, and at that point he was a hazard to all on the road.

Those who say Pot is just the same as alcohol are full of HUUEEEY !!!

Well Steve was driving and he also was taking heavy medication. I don't think that's being disputed, so Steve was a hazard driving under the influence of painkillers...

I also believe that a starter shouldn't lose his job to injury, they should be beaten on the court.

Agreed. Except for full-season injuries. Unfortunately Mo, but you lost your job. You must beat out Kenny now.

Does Rice's injury count as a full season injury? I mean he only played 20 games. I would love to see Kenny, Rice, and Mo compete for the 3/4 spot, and give the best two the starting jobs. I would like to see Mo, KT, and Griffin all starting on the frontline next year.

My hunch though is that all the high-dollar guys -- Rice, Mo, and Cato -- will start.

By the same token(hehe I made a funny), Mo hasn't been charged or found guilty of driving while under the influence of pot.

"Chances are ..." Nothing but speculation. Chances are Francis was driving while intoxicated, but we wont really know that now unless he admits it himself.

Personally I don't think pot is that much worse than alcohol. But that doesn't make what Mo did right. It is against league rules. He knows better.

If you asked MOT himself what does he think about his rebounding skills, he would probably admit they are mediocre at best. Everyone that has any ability to analyze a players skills knows MoT is horrible at rebounding...especially for a guy at 6'10!!!!! Whats further amazing, its not like his frame is the size of EG's, he has a decent frame to bang, but is totally to soft for a big man. I have seen MoT step up a few games and play hard, but overall, he seems content to play finese basketball.

Thats why I give KT so much props to be able to bang with the big men that are averaging 2.5+ inches of height, and yet still produce good stats.

KT averaging 6+ minutes a game also shows what great conditioning KT is in. Im not sure if you guys have ever played any physical basketball with guys taller and heavier than yourself.... guarding bigger guys drains you extremely. It requires more strenght and stamina trying to man handle guys larger than yourself. And its not like KT is a plump guy, the guy is in amazing physical condiition.

If KT is packaged up for some garbage big man, I will definitely be pissed.

Rudy says that Mo, KT and Eddie can co-exist:

But Tomjanovich said he believes there will be playing time for all three power forwards, citing Taylor and Griffin's perimeter shooting game and the lanes it would open for Thomas' slashing style.

"I don't see a problem with those guys playing together," Tomjanovich said.

"I want to be here," Thomas added. "We'll just have to wait and see. I don't know what will happen. My contract is coming up soon. We can't start talking until July. I don't know what they're thinking. They haven't said anything to me. If I had a choice, I'd want to get it over with."

So is Rudy hyping KT as the Most Improved Player to increase his trade value or because he does want to keep him?

I hope we keep KT because I believe he can match up with most 3s in the L. A forward rotation of MoT, KT and Eddie should be strong for the next decade.

I, too, would like to see that starting line-up, although starting Cato is no problem for me, much anymore. If you notice, most all NBA teams with only one true center will start that guy, and if they are mediocre offense like Cato, they sit after 6-8 minutes and get around 15 mpg after that for a total of 15-25 minutes. They'll bring their non-true-center lineups in as a 2nd unit, and often play them major 4th q minutes, just like us. Thus, you play Cato when the other team plays their Cato-quality center as well. There is a reason for this trend in the NBA, it is to get better help defense on the court to make sure the superstars on the opposition don't get off to big games out of the gate, plus it is not that important if these centers get 2 fouls early.

He and Rice will get the least minutes of the bunch, so it is really just a matter of how you want to play the first 6-8 minutes of the game.

Your wish for Mo, KT and Griffin to start is a non-issue to me. It is so obvious these 3 are going to be on the court major minutes next year, the non-starter really boils down to who meshes with a great second quarter unit the best. To win next year, this team is going to have to concentrate on winning the 2nd Quarter at a high clip, and being flexible with rotations in the 4th (ie, using Rice if he is en fuego, a Mo/KT/EG unit, 3-guards EG, KT or Mo, and using Cato as the game dictates).

To me, the only way Mo gets the nod as starter is if Rudy convinces KT that he is the better "energy guy" for the second unit to come in with Rice. (I really want Rice in off the bench.)

So, question to ya: who is the better guy to destroy teams in the 2nd Q and play with Rice and Moochie... Mo or KT.

imo, we go to both to start the 1st Q and both are equally effective. KT has proven he is less foul prone than Mo and a better defender. Mo might get the nod as better instant offense. I also think it makes pure sense to start the season with Mo off the bench, while KT does the pounding in the 1st. Besides, I just honestly do not believe Mo has a chance in hell of beating KT fair and square on the court in camp. By Mid-December, we'll have a better feel for who should really be the instant offense off the bench. Hell, that might even be Griffin for all I care to speculate.

I'm more interested in talking about the 4th quarter players than the 1st, anyhow. In the 4th quarter, I want TheFreak's lineup with the occassional Rice en fuego night and the occassional Cato bad-ass block night. I want EG, KT and Mo competing every night to see who gets the 4th quarter minutes with the 3 guard sets, or the Cato sets.

who is the starter is somewhat meaningless on Rudy teams, since he places high value developing good chemistry with 2nd units, and this team has a great chance to have some serious fire power in the 2nd unit, especially considering our two guards can clock 40+ minutes, easy.

    This is total BS!

Why is Rudy trying to ruin Griffin? Griffin is NOT a perimeter player. I thought these were just temporary plays till he got stronger?

Bull****. If you are a man of business, you, better than anyone, know that you don't put all your eggs in one basket.

Congrats Rockets, our PF spot will be making a combined 13M next season, while our backcourt makes around 14M.

We have excellent trade bait. The best kind. Kenny Thomas, who's up for MIP and has/will have a small contract, PLUS, not one, BUT TWO first round draft picks.

Thrust this frikkin team into contention. Sometimes I think Rudy is getting a bit too caught up into developing our own players. We have a shot at Odom, or Lewis (for the right price), why continue filling a full tank? More than Eddie and Mo?

I do NOT want Griffin becoming Horry. I want him to put on muscle and go inside ALWAYS, but be able to go outside when needed. That's what our team needs. Let Cato/Griffin become an incredible frontcourt, backed up by Mo.
