I know ESPN doesn't talk about Houston at all very much. In fact, I believe they don't even like us at all. All their analyst's and writers have nothing but bad things to say about us. The whole health issue is getting a little old these days. I know it's a safe bet to talk about the Rockets that way because of Yao and Tracy.

I wanted to post a few questions today that were mentioned.

That comment made me want to punch Barry in the face!

I posted these to see how you guys feel about what other people feel about our team. Not only that, John has always been fair to us but damn seems like we upset him last year.

I noticed he kept up bringing up the Jazz' tendency to foul...

makes you wonder if the difference between the Jazz beating Houston and losing to LA was the fact that the refs actually blew the whistle...

not that I want to start making excuses for our loss...I was really proud of this team, and thought they matched Utah's physicallity in that series...perhaps a lesson learned from the previous years series

I think one thing you'll see this year like we saw last year is that Landry, Scola, and Artest will be able to battle the Jazz intensity. That will be key.

The Jazz foul a lot but there is a whole mess of things that are never called on the Jazz. I'm sure every team says that but it's very proven when it comes to the Jazz.

I love it when people talk crap and then get their ass kicked. That guy from the Hornets thinks they are so much better. The reality about the Hornets is they are a thuggish team that tries to intimidate their opponents. Ain't gonna happen in Houston. I can't wait for Chandler to get in Dorsey's face. Let West just once try to slap Artests in the face. They will be shockingly surprised that they are wimps against real enforcers. I can't wait to watch them cry.

Spoken like a Tru Warrior. Their big 3 of Paul, Chandler, and West can't match McGrady, Artest, and Yao...it's that simple. Oh yea and don't get me started on their bench vs ours.

If Artest starts at 4, that means Scola will be in the bench. I hope Scola will starts and Battier will be the 6th man.

I don't understand one thing. Why all the love for Utah? Come on, they are not that good right now.

agreed. i thought hollinger made a great point though. they only beat us by one game and we didn't have yao for half a season, or ron at all.

they snuck up on a lot of teams last year (inflated record) and intimidated the rest with thuggish play. this year i see a regression in their win total since teams will be better prepared for them. that should also bode well for the rockets chances of earning a higher playoff seed.

Yeah, that didnt shock me, but kinda came as a suprise. I thought Scola would start and then it would be a toss up who would start at the 3 between Artest and Battier. If Battier comes back healthy, I agree with what you said, start Artest at 3 and Scola at the 4.

i also don't understand why we're being rated so highly over the Hornets. the Hornets are still better than us because they have arguably the best player in the game: Chris Paul. the guy dominated and commanded every game against Dallas and San Antonio.

i also don't understand why everyone's jumping off of San Antonio. They are still better than the Jazz.

my top 3: Lakers, Spurs, Hornets...slight dropoff Jazz then Rockets.

i see us being 4th seed again and playing the Jazz.

    Boo this man...

You must of not seen the games between Houston and New Orleans last year. One game, both Yao and Tracy shredded New Orleans badly at their home floor. The other game, and mind you we didn't have Yao, we beat them pretty good as well minus all the three pointers we gave them.

Chris Paul is the only person that really hurts us bad. Maybe David West.

That guy Ben got owned. He makes it sound like the Hornets were 15 games ahead of us. They were fully healthy all season while he suffered through the most major injuries and they only finished a mere game ahead of us.

    Fail.

He dominated the Spurs until it mattered most. Also, anyone would have dominated that mentally-beat-up Mavericks team, even T-Mac. The Rockets get better this year, not worse. They add Yao/Artest/Barry

Utah hasn't proved they can win on the road consistently. How can Hollinger have them come out atop the west?

CP3 did beat the hell out of us last year. I remember that Saturday home game last year against us and he killed the Rockets. I believe he had like 41 points. That's when Rafer was trying to fight everyone from their team.

CP3 can kill the Rockets all he wants. But we have to keep the likes of Chandler and Peja under control. The game we lost to them, Peja starting hitting three pointers.

I don't mind reading this stuff, hate goes hand in hand with fear and I see plenty of that from other NBA fans. We're not the Lakers or Knicks or Celtics, we don't have fans across the country to slurp us, our gain is everyone else's loss and I like it that way.

Dude Can I have whatever you're smoking? Theres no way in hell that those teams are better than us. The only one you can put on our level is LA in my opinion. But we would have to stay 100% healthy for us to be a top 2 team which I think we will this year.
