What's the definition of compromise in a relationship?

Marriage followed by kids. That's the down side of finding an awesome girl this early on in the life game.

Personally, I think a couple of things:
if I like her friends and she likes mine,
if our families like each other and have common values, morals and such,
and if she thinks I'm sexy,
the rest of the stuff is bull ****.

If a girl can do all these things, then maybe I can go out of my way and do what she wants to time and time again. I assume she'll do the same. To me, compromise is understanding the bigger picture. A lot of people equate compromise and sacrifice, i don't. In this hypothetical circumstance, I don't get a crazy crazy girlfriend, I get a normal crazy girlfriend. If we all like the people we keep, then it's hard to not be happy, even if you're not doing something completely tailor made to your likings. But I'm single, what do I know?

Oh, she has to put out too, that's part of compromise, totally.

MEN: allowing you to take 3 hours to get ready for a romantic evening
WOMEN: not disturbing us while the game is in the 4th quarter/period, last at-bat, last possession of the game, etc., with a few seconds remaining in the game... regardless of whether we have DVR or not...

Like say you want some Anne Hathaway but she's like "oh hell no!"

But after realizing how important Anne Hathway is to you, she compromises and allows to be anne hathawayed on holidays, your birthday, anniversarys. and just before the start of college football season.

 

What's interesting is that every poll I've ever read suggests men are much happier in their marriages than women are....that for all the talk about marriage and family being a prison for men, they usually respond more favorably to it than their wives do.

I think this concept is born out of funny antecdotes...but isn't based in reality. My wife kicks ass and I don't want to imagine my life without my kids. They're all a pain sometimes...but I am too.

 

I think she's implying that us men b**** about being with b****es that b**** all the time, so we get on a message board and b**** about said b****es, so she says why don't we leave these b****es and be with other men who b**** about their b****es so that we have something in common to b**** about so maybe we will not have anything to b**** about anymore. Right?

Seriously though, I think compromise in a relationship (and this goes for both men and women) is the fact that there are just things you are just not going to understand about the other, but it's OK because you love them; and you either deal with it or learn to like it because it makes them happy.
