Yes I can imagine, hopefully I won't have too though but I have a bad gut feeling.... I really hope I don't end up saying I told you all so...
Just because the Celtics won the championship last year doesnt make Garnett and particularly Pierce better than Yao and TMac. Yao may not be as quick as Garnett but he has a better post game than Garnett. And TMac, his a better all-around player and way more lethal scorer than Pierce. He just got the spotlight now because he got two other superstars to help him. So just wait for TMac to explode this season with Yao and Artest backing him up. Go Rockets! Let's get the championship this year
According to league rules on "matched offer sheet players", the Rockets cannot trade Carl Landry this season without his approval. Also, they cannot trade Carl Landry to the Bobcats next season period.
But, but, but - Pierce must be better because Tracy never made it out of the first round!?! Oh wait - how many times did Pierce even make the first round before he got his 'buddies'? We could always run the "Tracy is a playoff choker" line - but even a quick look at his playoff statistics put that foolish argument to bed It might just be me, but I'd take Tracy's 28.5ppg on 43% shooting (with 6.2apg, 6.9bpg 1.3spg and 1.1bpg - 3.2tpg) over Pierce's 22.5ppg on 42% shooting (with 4.7apg, 7.1rpg, 1.5spg, 0.8bpg and 3.7tpg). No doubt Pierce is a good player, but I think Boston would trade him straight up for McGrady in a heartbeat (Tracy is also 2 years younger for what it's worth)
Glad to see Landry is back - we couldn't play Scolandry without him. That PF is a beast! Landry is the best finisher on the team and a all around tough player and that's something the Rockets didn't have before Artest and Landry showed up on the scene.
LOL, Moe. I'll add that Dennis Johnson already had a ring as best player on that Seattle team. "What PG did Larry Bird have?" lol. Larry Bird is even on record saying that DJ was the best player he ever played with.
That was one hell of a scary thought. Thanks Morey for bringing Landry back to Htown. I smell championship!
DOULBE DITTO SIR JACKIE!!!!!!!!!!!! what in the hell does it matter folks.........we can debate coulda woulda shoulda till the cows come home and everyone has some point, but me personally i will get ready for rockets lift off....becuz its comin like a thief in the night people who cares hes signed sealed and delivered for the price we wanted all along and we didnt overpay for marginal talent like the god awful CD era signings( moochie, maloney, brent price, juwan howard, mo taylor, and god forbid KELVIN CATO!!!) morey is def on my christmas list as he has been sparkling since hes been here.........stevie franchise was a great cheap low risk signing had he pulled a carroll dawson and gave him a boatload of cash then yall could railroad the guy
I cant understate how paramount it was for us to keep him here. if scola went down, our backup PF rotation would be so offensivley handicapped without carl that it's not funny.he and scola cancel eachothers weaknesses out really well. they also seem to have a nice understanding and muital respect for eachother. thats paramount when two guys who are competing for eachothers minutes, dont go overboard and cause chemistry issues.
we will have no drop off in intensity this year. scola battier artest landry hayes dorsey wow. just wow. the whole game with at least two of these guys on the court at a time. fierce.
Welcome back. However, if this blows up in the Rockets faces, it's their own ****ing fault for doing so. Hopefully it will not come to that. Be a champ-in-the-making.
