Your example shows that there is a greater understanding that sex is about free will and not exploitation as we are less and less tolerant of forcing people into doing something they may not want or may not consent too. This situation is the flip side that if someone enjoys a sexual practice that may have seemed taboo at one time it is more acceptable as they are free of a sexual more that prevents them from enjoying it. The taboo of the act is a societal force acting in the reverse by keeping them as a consenting adult in enjoying something with another consenting adult.
