I was thinking, for this whole get red promotion what are the chances that the rockets could have all their home games with their red jerseys. That way the could match or encourage the fans to stock up on red gear before the game. It will go perfectly with their slogan. Is there a league rule against this? I would love to see it for at least a few games, maybe even the season opener.
they ARE doing it for the season opener. it was in the first press release for "Get Red" and posted like a gazillion times.
Sounds nice and all, but you have to think a couple of steps ahead. If they wear red for home games, then every other team in the NBA has to start traveling with their home jerseys when they come to Houston. I'm not sure teams are willing to put up with that inconvenience (although it may be minor) just so the Rockets can execute a marketing strategy. Also, if the Rockets wear red for home games, what do they wear on the road? White? Again, that means that every other team in the NBA would have to be inconvenienced by switching their jerseys too. So how about red at home AND away? Well, I don't think the NBA would ever let that happen, because they want to sell as many different kinds of jerseys as possible. Having two colors (home and away) is a huge part of that. Basically, they're doing it for the opener but it definitely will not be a permanent thing.
I just heard that if the Rox make past first round, i won't have my ceremony at TC... oh well..we win both ways!
home jerseys are only sold in the city of the team, (unless you purchase it online of course) so while home jerseys do count for some of jersey sales they are a small percentage of overall jersey sales. yeah wearing Red at home will not be a permanent thing at all its cool if there is total "redout" at the TC like opening night. They cant have the road team always bringing a home jersey. Maybe they can do these "redouts" on specific days sort of how the lakers wear their white home jerseys only on sundays. that maybe more practical to do if the initial "redout" is a success. chances are its houston, its a weeknight, there probably be more red on the court than in the lower bowl.
Last night i was on xbox and i sent aaron brooks a messege. I asked him if i should be fred flinstone or a spartan from the movie 300 for haloween! I also told him if he see's buddy baker around camp to tell him the rockets fans want him to kiss our A@#! and if he see's landry Tell him we want him to go to europe! I'm so tired of hearing about this landry being greedy situation!
I think you are totally wrong. My guess is that the majority of jersey sales occur online and that physical stores like the NBA Store in New York carry home and road jerseys. Home jerseys are not only sold in the city of a team.
U can purchase the jersey at any sportswear shop anywhere in the US. I can buy Rockets, Lakers, Knicks, or Celtics jerseys in Connecticut. No way it is only limited to the team city, how bout jerseys sold in china or other oversea countries?
Yeah my wife is gonna be wilma and my daughter pebbles. i sent it right before i signed off and i haven't checked if he sent a messege back until i get home from work
