    BlackKnight,

Don't you think that Marbury knows this too? Don't you think he might like a chance to seperate himself from the JR Riders of the NBA world?

You may be right, that could be all he ever is and will be, but I would take a shot to see if maybe he wants a shot to be on a real team...

Even now? That's bs. I'm from New York. The man can barely play anymore. The last two seasons he's played like he's forty years old, dogging in on both ends of the court. He's been destroyed by nearly every starting pg in the league, including Rafer. This, after promising to be "Starbury" again numerous times.

People said the same thing about Mike James ever since we traded him: "He's better than Rafer! He's better than Rafer!" Even Clutch drank the damn Mike James koolaid and the Rafer haterade. Hell, even I fell for it. Then we for James' worthless ass and he gets beat out by Brooks, a freakin rookie. Do you still think James is better than Rafer? Do you still think Rafer's the worst PG in the league? Give me a break!

Marbury for the minimum would be a coup. We could use more point guard insurance. I'd take him over Grandmpa Armstrong or Injured Stoudemire

I would also take marbury if he was bought out. Marbury may become a cancer in other teams but our team is exception becasue our coach is professional in coping with the troublesome rosters like Ron and Bonzi. And marbury is no more than Ron and Bonze at most.

If you add 2 negatives, you'll still have a negative.. you have a add a higher positive value to a negative in order to get a positive.

ahh my good buddy u knew i was coming...lol

Why did i know you would be here throwing rocks at a gunfight.
This guy has not in the past 5 seasons proven to be nuthin more than become THE POSTER BOY/DICTIONARY DEFINITION of everything thats wrong with the nba today.

    this is a fact.....
why would we want a guy like marbury in arguably the most important position on what could be our most magical season in years???

true...we need a upgrade at the point....key word being upgrade...anything else would be a step backwards

durin the season we all complain about needing a point guard with real point guard skills and nails open jumpers

why in the world would we want marbury and his low iq, shoot first, no passing, and makin teamates better self running a point guard position and not passing to our stars......why?

Marbury is the biggest example of somebody who thinks hes a superstar and is not even in the stratosphere......you cant tell that man that hes not arguebly the best point guard in the nba today....HE ACTUALLY BELIEVES THIS TO BE TRUE.......and would fight you if u told him different!!!!!!!!!

and we want him here....hes not gonna humble himself, and hes not a upgrade

bottomline we need a starting caliber point guard on this team and if a guy cant unseat rafer on this squad then why get him??????
and he cant unseat rafer for the startin job so whats the point?????

if u want a marbury for 15 mins a game give it to franchise....they make each other redundant with there skill set..

"Pouring water on widespread speculation that the Knicks will waive Stephon Marbury, president Donnie Walsh said the controversial point guard will be with the team when it begins official workouts next week.

"He's coming to training camp," Walsh said of Marbury in a telephone interview Tuesday evening.

    Stephon Marbury

    Marbury

A newspaper report out of New York Tuesday morning said the Knicks are planning to waive Marbury by the end of the week. The move, which has been speculated about for months in the media, would eventually lead to a buyout of the $21.9 million Marbury is owed in the final year of his contract.

"This thing is initiated in the press and then I have to ask questions about it," Walsh said, sounding somewhat perturbed. "I haven't approached [Marbury] about a buyout."

When asked whether he's reached out to the point guard to alleviate concerns about his status with the team, Walsh said, "I talked to Stephon once and he seems OK about all of this.""

on again off again ughh i guess in a month or so another story about waiving him will pop up and we'll argue about marbury on the team again :D

While I appreciate your insight about Francis, keep in mind this thread is about Marbury. Thanks.

I Argee 100%. Look at Randy when he was with Oakland and than look at him when he went to NE.

What if Marbury offer to play for free and donate his 20 mil to rockets? that would be a tough decision.

i actually agree with you. we should at least give him a shot and if he doesnt work out then get rid of him. but taking on artest OR marbury isnt the issue. its taking on artest AND marbury. thats the issue. i think he will step in line if hes on a winning team. and adding 2 negatives equals a negative. its multiplying 2 negatives that gives a positive. so unless artest and marbury have a love child....

If he comes cheaply with a 1 year deal or a team option for the 2nd then why not. If he gives any lip then cut him simple as that, but in all honesty if hes signing under these circumstances you can bet hes going to be on his best behavior. Hes better than Francis

OMG Why didnt I think of the McAdoo comparison, and yea if the greatest on-court cancer of all time (Antoine Walker) could cope with a reduced role and find a way to be more efficient off the bench and help his team win a chip, then so can Marbury.
