my parents want to lease a house they own in houston on short term bases but they dont know where to start. any advice? also if any of you are real estate people how much it cost to have a professional take care of the lease stuff? also how or where can they get the legal forms they need if they wanna do it themselves? thx
Depends how much time they can devote to finding renters. With the internet, you can advertise your property in so many sites by yourself. You can get the legal papers from any Real Estate office and they should be be able to print it up for free. I stand corrected, it is the first month's rent that's split up between the 2 real estate agents involved.
Usually the rent of the whole month, split between the two brokerages handling it. You can get the forms from a realtor friend or maybe find it online for a price maybe. My advice is to let a realtor handle this. Much less headache of showing, scheduling, and you get much more exposure to people on the market. Can anybody here show a contractual lease or rental agreement. Doesn't have to be complicated but just cover the basics. I'm planning on renting out my town home but would like for a friend to fill out a rental agreement.
