Kings sign F Chucky Brown for remainder of the season March 18, 2002 SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA (TICKER) -- The Sacramento Kings on Monday signed forward Chucky Brown, a 12-year NBA veteran, to a contract for the remainder of the season. Financial terms were not disclosed. Brown signed the first of two 10-day contracts with Sacramento on February 26, when guard Mateen Cleaves was placed on the injured list. He has played in five games for the Kings, averaging 0.8 points and 0.4 rebounds. Brown played in 26 games last season for the Golden State Wariors and Cleveland Cavaliers, averaging 3.9 points and 2.1 rebounds per game. He was a member of the Houston Rockets' team that captured the NBA championship in 1994-95. Brown originally was picked by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the second round of the 1989 draft.
