Tomorrow I'm getting married in Houston then driving to SA for our honeymoon. I'm thinking an italian place would be nice for tomorrow night. Any suggestions on good and romantic italian places along the Riverwalk?

Dude... do I have to do everything for you...? Jeez...

Go to http://maps.google.com . In the search box thingiemajig, enter "italian restaurants, River Walk, San Antonio." From the results, click one of those, then look at the reviews. For an even BETTER view, click "Street View" on the top right of the map legend, and dive onto an awesome view of the River Walk.

No, I don't have to do EVERYTHING for you... you're welcome.

    Oh, Congratulazioni, bambino!! :D

Something in the thread title doesn't fit with "SA." ;)

No offense, but considering it's the night of your honeymoon, shouldn't you have planned this earlier?

I will personally buy you dinner at Cafe Annie/Mark's/Del Frisco's if you make love on the Selena Bridge and post a videoclip on Clutchfans.

Never could work out what's so romantic about Pizza and Pasta.

Anyway, congrats on the marriage dude.

Hope it works out better for you than it did for me.

I do like Italian food, I just dont get why its so romantic.

I think I made mention of my marriage break up in a thread or two about 6 weeks ago when it happened.

I probably would of made a thread about it - but alas my rookie status.....

    In summary:

Got married in 2004 - aged 21 (she was 20) - basically I look at it as though I got married too young. Spent the last year or two trying to work out how I was going to be happy in life with a wife that was dead set about having babies starting in 2010, then living the rest of my life in a marriage where I was under-stimulated and over-stressed.

Doing the deed once a month (or less) was not going to cut it as a life long vocation!!

Finally I came to the conclusion that the only way to not end up being a middle aged man who resented his wife (and possibly the kids he felt pressured into having) and wondering where life COULD of taken me, was to tell her I wanted my freedom and explain that this was all too much for me.

I have since moved out and am living with 2 mates in a city apartment and really enjoying life. Its instantly vindicated my decision, I've never felt so much freedom and utter happiness.

She of course, saw it as a real shock and is really struggling at the moment. I feel really bad for her - but when Im in contact with her I get so stressed out and instead of wanting to comfort her I just feel more determined to sort our **** (selling the house, car and dividing assets etc) and get on with my new life.

I really want to travel, I want to come and see Houston (have been to the US a couple times but only NY, Seattle, Portland, Vegas and LA) and see other parts of the world.

Would love to maybe settle in HOU for 12 months or so - and go to EVERY Rockets game possible!!

I am approaching 26 and the time is now for me.

I just came back from SA and that place sucks!

WTF is the deal with the moths? They made my car covered in bug guts within 5 minutes of driving in. Plus i saw (on two separate occasions) two dudes riding on the same motorcycle. The place also had a general stench about it, like pasadena.

That's like asking for romantic tex mex restaurants in turin. =)
    good luck in your quest.
I'm sure you will be able to find one, but their will still be a mariachi band playing without your request, then asking for a tip. Oh and you can't forget about the lady trying to get you to buy a $12 flower.

If you're serious about a badass restaurant, then La Reve on the Riverwalk is the place. It was ranked a top 10 restaurant in the US I believe.

Another restaurant which I've been to is The Lodge. It's actually at this historic house so each dining room is in the various rooms. Pretty intimate.

Damn, I can't remember the name of the place, but the wife and I went to this tiny little italian place on the riverwalk a few years back. It was really small, and I remember that it was elevated and built into a tree or something? But it really good food, and romantic, and we enjoyed it a lot...

Delores del Rio on the Riverwalk is a good italian choice. It's away from the tourist traps, allows privacy...and even has belly-dancing. Odd, but entertaining...and the food isn't so bad either.

We went to a really crappy italian restraurant on the river walk this summer. I'll check my photos at home tonight and post the name so you at least know where to avoid. The food was horrible.

Dolores Del Rio is the name of that spot. But damn it is small. Can fit maybe 35 comfortably.

Paesanos is good... Biga on the Banks is top notch but not Italian. Both are on the riverwalk, but Biga is away from the hustle and bustle.
