5 years ago Tracy would have been better than Wade, hands down. However, Wade's title run year was amazing and he really put himself over the top. He is still better than T-Mac but if he keeps reinjuring himself and T-mac has a career resurgence then they could switch spots again. Hey, being #3 behind kobe/Wade is no thing to be ashamed about. When they start putting Ginobili in front of you then you should perhaps raise your game.
for all u d-wade lovers u guys are crazy..........lets go back to last season when the heat had the worst record in the league d-wade quit on the team and sat out for the remainder of the season.......and shaq bailed out on the team with his fake injuries and then goes to the suns all fine and dandy. back to d-wade........for once i feel sorry for the mavs when they got cheated in the finals now i know everybody remembers that if u dont go watch the highlights......TWO WORDS "TIM DONAGHY". THERE WOULD BE NO CHAMPIONSHIP FOR WADE OF SHAQ. For all u t-mac haters watch out this season!
Reading comprehension, my friend. I said during the 06-07 season, before he went down due to shoulder injury, he was at those statistical numbers. And no, his career high in APG is 7.5 in 06-07, not 6.6 (in fact he has had 3 seasons of over 6.6APG). His career high in BPG is 1.2.
. This view was weak to start, refs don't make you shoot over 60% against great defenses like Wade achieved. As for calls, he got them but no more than MJ AI KB LJ and other super aggresive superstar swingmen. Like I was the above position was already weak, this summer should have buried it in a remotely fair mind.
Tmac definitely deserves the #2 slot here regardless if wade has a ring due to shaq. No shaq=no rings for wade.
By this logic Tmac is #1, b/c all of Kobe's rings came with a peaking Shaq who cleaned all the playoff MVPs and Kobe even managed to lose twice later with a better Shaq than the one who arrived in Miami. Of course all this is ridiculous, Tmac isn't at Wade nor Kobe's level. I'd say he is next, and ahead of some other great SGs (including other HOFs like AI, Allen, etc).
No Yao=no second round for T-Mac. Hell, at this point 2 playoff series' w/Yao=no second round for T-Mac. I LOVE T-Mac...one of the bigger homers out there. And I do not put much blame on T-Mac for his playoff shortcomings because I know he has elevated his play in virtually every post season he has been in. With that said, I can easily use your faulty logic to turn your arguement upside down. That arguement simply has no bearing.
Look at last season during the span he was healthy. he waqs top scorer in the first 8 of the year averaging 29 points. then he hurt his elbow against the lakers and missed some games. even then he came back and was averaging around 28 then. it was'nt till he had that shoulder injury that his numbers dipped. healthy mcgrady is on wades level. if not better.
I think it's debatable as to who is the better player, but I don't think his health is any longer a viable crutch for hypothetical. The nagging injuries ARE T-Mac at his best. Essentially, he'll never be fully 100% damage-free, EVER. This is not a knock on T-Mac, but if he actually cares about being great and winning a championship, he needs to do what Jordan and Kobe both did at this age, and that is come to terms with a loss of athleticism (though in neither's case was it anywhere near as drastic as T-Mac's) and redefine his game. He's basically getting by right now on the greatness of his court vision, ball handling, and his superior length to shoot over players. He really needs to take the time to improve his middle distance shooting because 41% is just unacceptable for a player as talented as he is.
I think it is fair to compare both wade and McGrady properly next season. If Wade can at least get 45+ wins in the Eastern Conference, I might put him over McGrady. However, the miami championship year is not a very good example of showing Wade's superiority. First of all, the winners (miami) won controversially, with horrible game deciding calls. As for Wade's stats, well....saying the refs treatment is not a good argument at all, but what I will say is McGrady is not exactly lesser than Wade when it comes to playoffs or playoffs against Mavericks. The playoff McGrady vs Mavericks in 2004 was really something else, and if he had a team like the heat there is no doubt would've lost to the rockets.
You're right that a fully healthy mcgrady is now become a myth. but as i said before, even with minor nagging injuries tracy can score and play with most of the elite Primeter players. as i pointed out with the statistics earlier. it's when he suffers those major injuries like the shoulder or the knee that in effect renders him inferior to them. BTW, tmacs mid-range game is still one of the best in the league. it's his shot selection and those crazy heat check shots that hurts his field goal %.
Healthy TMAC = Elite player. Even at 80-90%, he's a top 5 guard. Despite what some would tell you on the bbs, he's still got a few years of top-tier play left in him.
I do not want to argue who's better, but I think if we had wade instead of tmac , we would have won many more close games in the playoff.
I do not want to argue about this either. Let's just say you are right. Do you prefer a player who can lead scrubs to make the PO, or a player who can lead a talented team to the championship?
