It's in the details... you see what you want to. He was contacted. He gave advise. He was not on the "payroll" but...

You find the link. It's in the same article that makes America aware that the relationship is not what some may see as a story... but again you see what you want.

Pretty sure if a man admits he's had contact with a campaign about economic issues in which he gave advice... general or not... he's an adviser in some capacity.

I guess it's just semantics at this point. It says he had discussions. That's not an adviser. I guess neither of us know exactly what was said, but either way it seems clear that he wasn't what most would think of as an adviser. That is agreed upon by both the Obama campaign and Raines himself.

That's my point. Noe of us (in here) know, because we do not have first hand information. Campaigns change marching orders midstream now days, and direct people to "tailor" their statements to the media about private dealings... And both sides are playing shadow tricks as we type. ;)

Sure - one can always conjure up an excuse to get your candidate off the hook. That's what you've done here.

By the way, I didn't reply to your post to me as FB did a great job dissecting your reply and I couldn't have said it better or with more authority.

    That's Madame Governor to you.

Who's "low ranking?" You don't have to vote for the man, but you don't need to insult his sacrifice either. Shameful.

Yeah, McCain should have just moved up the convention two weeks to get ahead of the Democrats so he could show his decisiveness.

I don't think he's qualified, but nonetheless, the United States people have been blindly voting to "change" whatever the previous president has done.

Dude hasn't been around for much, but already wants to be president. Heck, if that's the case, even I should run. :) (but I can't, since I was born in Meh-hee-koh.)

Enjoy SwoLy's time in the D&D, everyone. Have at it.

    I agree with Mr. Giuliani.

After College, Research Associate in the financial services division of Business International Corporation where he edited Financing Foreign Operations, a global reference service, and wrote for Business International Money Report, a weekly financial newsletter. (Which means he had more economics training as a 22 year old than McCain has at 71.)

Director, Developing Communities Project (DCP) June 1985 to May 1988

Editor and President, Harvard Law Review

Summer associate at the law firms of Sidley & Austin in 1989 and Hopkins & Sutter 1990.

Obama directed Illinois' Project Vote from April to October 1992.

Senior Lecturer, Constitutional Law, 1992-2004 (Vastly superior knowledge of Judicial issues and Constitutional law than McCain. Will understand the consequences of his appointments to the Federal Courts, unlike McCain.)

Obama was a founding member of the board of directors of Public Allies in 1992, resigning before his wife, Michelle, became the founding executive director of Public Allies Chicago in early 1993. He served from 1993 to 2002 on the board of directors of the Woods Fund of Chicago, which in 1985 had been the first foundation to fund Obama's DCP, and also from 1994 to 2002 on the board of directors of The Joyce Foundation. Obama served on the board of directors of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge from 1995–2002, as founding president and chairman of the board of directors from 1995–1999. He also served on the board of directors of the Chicago Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, the Center for Neighborhood Technology, and the Lugenia Burns Hope Center. (Has worked closely with the public at large and understands the needs of the poor, something John McCain has never experienced).

    Illinois State legislator, 1997–2004

    US Senator, 2005-Present

    VS.

    John McCain

Son and Grandson of Military Elite (admirals)

Attended the National War College at Fort McNair in Washington, D.C. during 1973–1974.
Commanding officer of a training squadron stationed in Florida, 1976.
Served as the Navy's liaison to the U.S. Senate beginning in 1977.
Retired from the Navy on April 1, 1981[65] as a captain.

Vice President of Public Relations, Hensley & Co., his new father-in-law Jim Hensley's large Anheuser-Busch beer distributorship, Phoenix, AZ.

McCain ran as a Republican for an open seat in Arizona's 1st congressional district, in 1982. Elected and served until entering US Senate.

i'm not diminishing what mccain did, but what is shameful is that he's using that line to take advantage of the american people.

All the news stations were talking about how Mccain was going to wait till Obama made his decision, i can guarantee you that mccain's VP pick was going to depend on Obama's, if Hilary was chose it woulda been Palin who? Its much like his campaign, he has nothing to contribute other than scare the people of what Obama will do.
