would you be surprised artest leave next season?

would you be surprised artest complain about less offense play?

would you be surprised artest out of control on some point of season?

No, I wouldn't be surprised either. I just hope his relationship with Adelman will help him stay out of trouble.

I think there's an OK chance that he will stay if the Rockets have a successful season, but do the Rockets have the money to pay him? Doubtful.

Artest is not going to complain about offense. How can he possibly want to be more than third option?

Ron Artest will be slightly nutty but I don't think it will be directed at Rockets players or staff. I think he's becoming more weird than violent as he matures, more Rodmanesque.

I think it is a fair question to ask. All of us have high hopes but name one team he has fit in ideally. Most of us want to believe he will fit in perfectly like most people thought Pippen would of with Barkley, Olajuwon, and Drexler. But fortunately for this Rockets team Adelman had previous success coaching Artest. Artest has said and done all the right things so far and that is a great sign. But he does still come with baggage which is why we got him for given up so little. But this was a move the Rockets had to make to see if we can go to the next level with Tmac and Yao.

Artest isn't a quitter like Pippen. He has a passion for the game. If he blows up and ruins the season (which i don't believe), it's because he is crazy (which we all know), and not because he is a loser like Pippen. Pippen had never experienced turmoil before because he played with the best SG of all time (ok ok.. best player of all time - I have Hakeem bias) and all he knew how to do was blame others. Scottie Quitten.

There is some logic in your original post, but you are raising a question about the worst possible scenario. Of course, some of the things you mention could happen but nobody can predict the future so there is no reason to be that cynical. It's like creating a thread titled "Playoffs? No way!" halfway through the season when there is no reason to give up on the team. I won't give up on, or doubt, Artest before he has even played one game as a Rocket.

I hear you and you make good points but there are also cases like Rasheed Wallace. He was a Jailblazer one minute and an NBA champion the next. There is no reason to take the cynical view on Artest at this point since he's on the team for the near future. Let's just hope that he plays to his potential because that is some serious potential.

    blaspheme!

and unless he plans on averaging less the 2 pts a game in a contract year it'd be impossible.

plus if Artest ever signed a 75 million dollar contract with the Rockets, he wouldn't go broke.
plus Artest would never blame Yao or Tmac if the team lost.

it is good to be positive, but you have to understand artest want to good season, not only base on team, but his stats, in the end, he wants more money, wihch rocket will never enough him, and for the stats, he is a player who wants ball to make it happen, in rocket, i doube his chances.

we paid Pippen as much as we would have paid Jordan, that in there lies the fault and the fiction that he could actually live up to the billing as the top dog on the team.

Artest on the other hand, I believe he could be the first option on this team.

The Pippen situation years ago was a completely different story. We were at the tail end of our stars' career at that point. We were trying to sell tickets as well lets be honest....Barkley had to take a huge pay cut to get Pippen on board, and Pippen wasn't ready to sit in the backs eat and enjoy the ride as Artest and shown the willingness to do so. Plus NONE of our players have had much playoff success, the thirst for a championship is definitely going to be at a high level similar to the Celtics last year. Even though Artest is well traveled, and his behavior well documented last not forget his praise for RA, and his continued reassurance to come into this season as being a facilitator in any area he can be. Lets sit back and enjoy the show the ROX are gonna put on for us this season and HOPE Morey has a few tricks left up his sleeve and we can sign him.

ps...i think Artest is exactly what we need on this team. Finally someone with some damn balls.... just my opinion ofcourse

Pippen is a jerk. Artest is a psycho.

I'd take a psycho over a jerk every day.

If Artest does implode (which I pray every day that it won't happen), it will be very different from Pippen's antics. Pippen is my second most hated player behind Karl Malone.
