I worry about buying things off here because no one would believe me if a CM screwed me. There should be a feedback system for ClutchFans transactions. We all know ClutchFans can't be held responsible for transactions we make, so I don't know why there isn't one that's not extensive.
The really funny thing is that I even warned the guy I was gonna make a thread about this three weeks ago. Still no response. And I know he's posted since then, so apparently, he knows he screwed me, and he doesn't care how shamed he gets. If only there were real repercussions of some kind...

You can take him to small claims court and you can easily win the money. But thats not worth it. However, if you can obtain some type of proof (ie go visit a therapist who can show that you have suffered some emotional or mental distress ) you can use his ass for the Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress tort on top of the breach of contract and get lots and lots of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. I am not sure about the Texas courts though. They might be anti-torts. You should check up on how the courts in Texas have ruled on torts cases and then you can check the likelihood of a big pay day. If only lived in somewhere in the midwest, you would make a lot of money right now.
to me the wierd thing is its not even a scam. if it was a scam he would have taken your money and not sent anything. but he sent most of it. not that i condone what he did..just seems odd.
I'm pretty sure johnmvp was the admin at a rival astros forum. this is sad news I almost let this guy do my website. I hope he mans up. seemed like a cool cat.
I grow bored with this thread. Every day I click on it hoping johnmvp has replied and then we can all flame him and feel like better people
even though its been a yr and a 1/2 I still feel pretty crappy about my 'shady activity' but it's good that most of us here can have a chuckle about the thread johnmvp I can tell you firsthand that you have certainly damaged your standing here on the bbs and that it will take a while to build it back up don't try to make excuses just come out and admit you were wrong, save some face, something I wish I had initially done
What you did IMO wasn't shady. You failed to trust a fellow CF member, a total stranger, who turned out to be a honest guy. You didn't try to rip off anyone. IMO what johnmvp did was shady. He received payment for goods he has not delivered.
