How about allowing each remaining player to have a "bye week".

on the ike situation: bye week for everyone would be the easiest thing to do. just give the remaining players a wiin for this week.

No bye week. I keep it hardcore.

Ok, I guess the people who missed the deadline can have bye's, but just eliminate the people who picked but got it wrong.

Or maybe force them to pick the winner of Monday Night Football tomorrow.

I agree with this. All current picks should stand, and allow those who couldn't pick due to Ike to choose the winner of the Monday Night Football game.

My idea was to allow everyone still active in the game to choose a bye week. Those who didn't pick would have their bye week this week. Those who submitted their picks for this week and lost would be eliminated. I think that would be the easiest way.

You mean each person who won this week can choose individually when they want to have a bye week? That would get too confusing.

Werd, if the bye week idea is going to be used, everyone should receive a bye week THIS WEEK. Nobody should get to choose when they are going to use their bye.

so then all those people who did put their picks in and lost would get a free pass?? I don't think thats fair.

I figured the bye week would get some opposition. The way I am figuring it now is that anybody who did and was able to make a pick, then that pick will stand. Anybody who hasn't due to Ike could still be suffering from its devastation and may not have power and so on. I'm pretty sure any and all picks made this week will stand so there is no way around a losing pick if you made one and there is no way of choosing a team that won if you picked one. The only thing I am unsure of what to do on is those that have not made a pick.

Maybe mandate a bye next week for everyone who picked this week and won. Give everyone who didn't pick this week a chance to catch up.

A mandated bye week seems fair. The hurricane people didn't get to pick when to use their byes, neither should we (those able to submit picks).

I'm assuming many people who didn't pick for Sun won't be able to pick tonight either, so I don't think Mr. Brightside's idea will work.

    This sounds reasonable. Any objections?

If I get a third on professorjay's suggestion before any opposition then that's the plan we'll take. I'll try my best to get an updated spreadsheet out tonight too but I will be watching the game and studying for a test so it will be tricky. I'll try my best though...

I agree. Even though I live far away from Houston, my mind must have been traumatized by just thinking about Ike...which is my only explanation for choosing Kansas City this week (even though they should have been able to beat Oakland...I mean, c'mon!)
