Det: Wow..that might have been the longest post that I have ever seen from you. That should be worth about 10 "rolleyes" posts. I don't deny that alot of your "analyzing" is probably close to the mark. Yes, I do have lots of insecurities - why, I don't know, but they exist. This BBS gives me an outlet to help cope with stress in my life. Do, I take myself too seriously here, sometimes? I believe that the answer to that question is yes. I know that there are people here that like to yank my chain and give me a hard time, but it is annoying to read a thread and see someone who hasn't had a post in that thread "interrupt" it with a smilie post, especially if there is a "heated" confrontation going on. Sometimes, I just overlook stuff like that, but other times like tonight, I can't overlook it. It's silly, but it's something that I won't deny. The "Achebe wuv-fest" is something that is tongue-in-cheek, and is not meant to be taken seriously. It would definitely lose its lustre if Heb came back and posted on a regular basis. I do like his style and reading his posts, but that's as far as it goes..seriously. As for your other mentions of me trying to win "friends" or being a follower, you'll have to cite them to me. I know that you probably also include a thread that I thanked Clutch, but that was a sincere one. The reason being is that I hardly post in the Rockets forum anymore, and for a thread of mine to get picked to be on the front page was something that made me feel proud. If I can get along with TheFreak after some of the wars we have had here, then I can get along with anybody. However, I do admit that I probably could stand to take a month off or so from this place, but I don't know if I could do it. I will admit, though, not to try to take myself so seriously. there could be a compromise here. since you dont like your old name much, but I am sure there is some attatcment to it, hey still think that the 84 ford escort with pink and purple pinstripes is a fine automobile, you have made over a thousand posts with this name, change it to DDT. it could stand for Det De threat. pretty tricky huh. You have your old name, somewhat, and you have a new nickname. then you can have cool catch phrases such as. I am about to blow up on you. Your messing with DYNOMITE. stuff like that. I am going to blow up on you with smilies that would demand respect
That's a cool idea, except that DDT isn't dynamite. It's an insecticide that is toxic to humans and animals when swallowed or absorbed through the skin. You're probably thinking of TNT. Your catchphrases would have to be like: "I'll infect you with my smilies." or "My posts are toxic, baby."
