I just killed literally the biggest f'n cockroach I've ever seen. It must have gotten in when I stepped outside to check the wind factor. This f'er was bigger than a golf ball. Apocalyptic ****, man.
Dry air has entered into the eye and disrupted it causing it to start to fall apart, which means hopefully no more strengthening. They eye is not that big, the dry air is only making it look like a huge eye.
I am getting all sorts of wind gusts.....but we still have power here. btw, my folks have a beach house in surfside....or, likely, had one. Thank God for insurance.
"The eye continues to tighten, and the intense convection is wrapping around into the right semicircle. This will be a 3 at landfall." some guy on easternUS forums.. also, we're in for something in sugar land. apparently the west side of the storm is very strong.

Yeah, me too...and I live in Las Vegas! My family who lives in the 77079 area just told me that they're power is out and some of my friends who live in the 77077 area told me they have no power either. Hang in there H-town!
ok.....that was intense... HUGE burst of wind and rain is starting to fall here in sugar land. looks like we're getting the bands now.
I live in Sugar Land as well, on West Airport and Hwy 6. Wind is really starting to pick up and it is starting to rain.
