Electricity has flickered a number of times... ...hoping that if/when it does go out it won't stay off long; we're a few minutes from Wal Mart and everyone needs Wal Mart open.
Power line knocked down right outside of Channel 2 studios. I had a flicker or two here but I still have power.
we got a flicker or two out here in the last hour, but so far so good. I did go ahead and switch off all computers except for this laptop and my connection devices(routers/modem) Howzit going out there in Pasadena? My mom, sister, neice and nephew are at Crenshaw and Allen Genoa in a two story. How is that area of Pasadena LHFan? You think yall gonna be ok flood-wise?
Are you, by any chance, at or near your parent's house? I ask because my parents are in Italy at the moment and I figured you might be an easy, unexpected way to get updates about how things are going around there.
$5.49 for a gallon of gas in Orlando. I've seen price gouging, but that's when hurricanes actually HIT OUR STATE. (Yes, I'm aware of the ramifications of this hurricane and oil refineries, etc...but to have that price spike before the eye has hit land is crazy.)
still nothing here in by Klein Forest area where i am currently at. i hope my house is ok. i took a few pictures of the sky. i saw some teens or so playing football. i wanted to play too. id kick ass. the light flickered once.
Walmart is important no doubt...I am near Medical Center + Reliant Stadium also so those should probably be up there on the "TO DO LIST" you would think for the electricity serviceman. ...so I am hopeful that my neighborhood gets some semi-preferential treatment (in case power soon goes out for my zip code this weekend in the midst of the mass power outage work ahead for the thousands of workers). Because of Texans having a home game they are trying to play Monday-> and more importantly the hospitals I am hopeful... but we will see since I am located in the middle of the two (kind of) not exactly super close to either. Be safe Clutchfans...
Just VERY heavy gusts right now, barely any rain. Flood wise, I know we're fine as Allison flooded only half way up our yard. We're far away from the storm surge area so no worries there. I'm pretty sure Crenshaw/Allen Genoa will be fine. I'm only about 3 miles from there. Yeah, I'm staying with the parents on the street next to the one you used to live on. The church trees I expect to see down in the morning as they're really taking it hard with these gusts and the hurricane winds have yet to hit us. Barely a trace of rain so far. I'll walk by their house tomorrow and let you know how things are.
Sweet! Thanks for the update. If things really go south, please email or post and let me know. I would really appreciate it.
On Ch 2 they are saying a 25 foot surge of water could hit the Ship Channel, and total damage to the area could be up to 100B!!!! They also say we can be without power for 2 weeks? Could we really be without it for that long? I thought lines were underground now.
