    ORLANDO -- Not 732 or 733 or 734 days.

No, Phoenix Suns center Shaquille O'Neal knows his life will change in exactly 735 days.

"My basketball career will be over in 735 days," O'Neal told News 13 television in Orlando, Fla. "And being an educated man, I've always had things to fall back on. So one of my options is law enforcement."

O'Neal, who was drafted by the Orlando Magic but has since played for the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat and Phoenix Suns, still has a house in Central Florida. He spoke of his possible future plans Wednesday with the kids at the Pine Hills Boys and Girls Club.

O'Neal has long had an interest in law enforcement and went through the training with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Reserve Academy before becoming a reserve officer with the L.A. Port Police.

A 7-foot future Hall of Famer, O'Neal said he intends to play out the remainder of his contract and retire. He has won four titles in his career -- three with the Lakers and one with the Heat.

Dallas and Phoenix put it all on the line last season (Shaq and Kidd trades)

They gambled the farm - And they lost.

And all us Rockets fans rejoice.

    :)

I thought he looked good at the end of last year, Nash's inability to play a ass a traditional PG hurt more than anything........

I have a feeling Terry Porter is the perfect guy to put this team back on te radar...

I really miss him, I mean I have been missing him since he was traded to Suns. It's a comedy that Shaq joined suns to play fast break, a comedy for shaq but a tragedy for Nash. Suns Officials thought shaq would bring them a championship but he can actually bring them nothing but humours.Even though the big man still has two years on contract, but it makes no difference whether to retire right now or two years later. O'Neal is no longer the shark he was when he was young, shaq now can only show his sharp teeth in the games vs Rockets because Yao is too kindhearted to frustrate his old brother as other centers do.

However, Shaq deserves our applouse when he actually retires. He is the only roster left in the league who is among the best 50 players in NBA's history. You know, even David Robinson is excluded of the 50 list.He was one of the best four centers in 90s. But he is going to retire. We will be gonna miss him. We will always remember his slam dunks, his hilarious performances and his fat as well. :D

I wonder what would have happened if the Suns had won game 1 against the Spurs in last year's playoffs.

shaq's not washed up, at least physically. he still dominated yao and duncan at stretches last year. but his mind is probably not in the game anymore.

Shaq can still play. I think it all depends on his health and condition. He is still a tough guard one on one. Always had above average passing skills for a big man. With their new coach, it'll be interesting to see what happens with the Suns.

I wouldn't be surprised if he opts to goto Europe at the end of the season if things don't work out with the Suns.
