the Rockets have won 3 straight games against play-off contenders. wow! Beating the T-wolves, Jazz, Sonics are not easy.. they've been playing great in the clutch. But here comes the test: can they play with the same desire and intensity vs. Lotto bound teams? I think they need to be careful; I can easily see the Bulls whooping us again. I think a good match-up to see will be Rose vs. Mobley -Both are so identical in my eyes, of course I haven't seen Rose play much. I know Mobley is always up for a challenge and he refuses to let himself get whooped by the opposing shooting guard, but I have a feeling Rose is the same way. If the Rockets can beat the bulls, and I mean beat them as to where there's no doubt with 2 minutes or so left in the game that they're going to win - then this winning streak will be all the better. We've always had problems beating the crappy teams, but come to play with the big boys. It's safe to say they're at as a full strength as they could be this season (considering how they've had time to adjust to Mo, Rice gone and they are all healthy now) - this will be a game to see what a years difference means. Have the Rockets learned anything from last year and earlier this season? -LTF
I've been checking out the Bulls a fair amount since the trade, and they are very competitive in all the games I've seen. I may be forgetting someone, but their losses have generally been less than 10 points. Best is playing well, along with Rose, and they've been getting contributions from Curry, Chandler, & Hassel. Eddie Robinson is back and has been contributing also. I would think it will be a pretty competitive game. I know what you're saying about intensity against lotto teams. See the Golden State game. I think in the Bulls case, though, they've elevated their game, since the trade.
3/12: 110 - 81 loss to Milwaukee 3/9: 100-73 loss to San Antonio 3/5: 115-90 loss to Washington Nope, the Bulls still suck... which means that they're going to beat us...
You know, I figured I missed maybe one big loss, but not 3! I still say they are playing better since the trade. They won 3 in a row right after the trade. They beat Washington a few days before that big loss. They lost to Detroit by 2, Orlando by 5, New Jersey by 8, Miami by 5, Clippers by 4, and Sacratomato by 4. I don't think they suck as bad as they used to.
This is so true. The Bulls play Fizer at SF a lot, and Chandler at PF. This is great for us, since we have Eddie and KT at F spots. The way to this victory? DOMINATE the backcourt, and don't allow any surprise career nights for anyone. Rose is going to get his stats, but it's everyone else we should worry about.
coma, maybe because it's either Rudy's game plan only works against good teams or our 1 on 5 gameplay *surprises* good teams and they don't catch on for a while or they blow us out early and we make a patented fourth quarter comeback. I think almost anyone can beat anyone on a given night, there's no 72 game winning team this year. Kinda exciting, unless you are a fan of a good team that loses to a mediocre team.
I think Rose is a better playmaker, and better inside... but Mobley's more explosive and is a better shooter. I don't think of them as identical at all.
Hopefully I'm wrong, but Rose has been on a tear lately, with something to prove. Things I hope I don't see tonight: Rose having a career night. Best running circles around Francis' "defense." Chandler or Curry having monster games. Actually, I'll be glad to see it at all. I'm in Iowa City. The Rox don't get on TV much (League Pass isn't available here). Maybe they will tonight on WGN, but when the Bulls play another struggling team, they often show something else...like a Fresh F*****g Prince of Bel-Air marathon. ARGH!
Eddie will dominate Chandler tonight while KT will kill Fizer. I hope Cato will do something to Curry, but my biggest fear is if Crawford gets the majority of his health back and decides to have a career night since it hasn't come yet.
I don't know, it's agood matchup, but Eddie seems to always have bad games when playing against someone with attitude (Chandler). I'm hoping Cato and Griff do well. Rose will have his way. But Francis and Cat have to win it. I think it's ours, solely because losses taste even bitter this time of the season, especially for our players. Suddenly, I'm also worried about the Cartwright/Tomjanovix matchup. Cartwright is an EXCELLENT coach and he'll settle for nothing less than a victory over us tonight from his players.
Maybe, maybe not. I'll check the listings when I get home. What happens is this: sometimes WGN doesn't show the game to a more localized area. Usually depends on the opponent. When the Bulls played the Warriors on WGN, 't'was a no-show here (not that I cared about that one). So maybe WGN's lame staffmembers see an opponent with a bad record and then automatically not show that game. It's like a local blackout for a game that doesn't sell out; but it's just selective broadcasting. Fingers crossed. If I see it or not, we better win!
