I have a TV I needed the Repair man to fix it is a AKAI 42 inch TV Won't power on at all. Call local TV guy . . says 45$ to Diagnos the issue So local TV guy comes out to look at it. Says he cannot diagnos it there needs to take it to the shop Takes it to the shop Calls me today Says it will be 385$ to fix it I say what is wrong He says. . I CAN'T TELL YOU CAUSE THEN YOU WILL TAKE IT TO SOMEONE ELSE TO FIX IT I say I paid you 45$ to Diagnos the issue He says I have .. . but I can't tell you what is wrong . .that is how we do it I told him to bring my TV back I worked as an onsite Tech . . .Freelance and with a company I never Tell someone I know what is wrong with your machine but i can't tell you until you pay me the 45$ I'll charge that to the game but Now I'm concerned he will JACK UP my TV on purpose when you have no integrity like that . .well I have little to no expectations that you will have any on something like this Rocket River Anyone know of a REASONABLE repair man . . . I think I will just look for the specs on the Akai which I probably should have done in the 1st place but didn't have that kind of time. . . . TV REPAIR MAN = worse than Mechanics
I've never seen that. What a douche! If he thinks you would just take it somewhere else to fix it, then he was obviously going to rip you off on the repair given you wouldn't know what was wrong with it until it was fixed.
I'll hook you up with a TV Repair guy that fixed an old Projection Tv and an old VHS+TV smaller 19" tv for me, if you'd like, Mr. River. email me through the board if you're interested, sir. THIS GUY is LEGIT and I back him up. On the West side, though.
list his name and number so i can flame him...also so i stay away. isnt there something legally wrong here?
River, I got the old dreaded "This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently [youremail]" when trying to reply to your email. Can you retry, please?
My mom had he big screen picked up by a repairman 8 months ago. They still have her TV. They avoid her calls, don't call back, say that they "needed to reorder the part because it was the wrong one or it just hasn't come in yet" I have people screwing over my mom
aw hell no. call the douche and tell him thems fighting words! He's trying to pull a jack move on you.
River, Have you not learned anything in these HDTV posts here? you have to buy name brand. Akai = Yi Janlian
3 words.....Better Business Bureau. That's a scam and he should be reported. If he was going to do that, then he should do free diagnosis. The fact that he's making you pay for the diagnosis only to say "I can't diagnose it....I need to take it in...." and then still expect you to pay is dishonest, deceptive, and just plain wrong. The guy is a scumbag.
I had a problem with my washing machine. The guy said it was probably the speed control circuit board that needed to be replaced. I asked him to check it out, but he said I had to buy the board and the labor @ $295 total first, and if he put it in and found it wasn't the board, then I wouldn't have to pay for it. I sent him home, went to a parts store and bought the board for $140 and put it in myself. He said it was company policy (this is Sears- where I originally bought the washer). Need less to say I won't be using them anymore,
$150 for labour and a house call doesn't seem crazy for the washing machine. Especially if he said you wouldn't have to pay if it didn't work. The guy who charged you for a diagnosis and then wants you to approve repairs without telling you what they are, though, sounds like a total con man. In fact....even if he hadn't charged you for diagnosis...you should be telling your customers what you propose to do before having them approve it. I wouldn't trust that guy.
Thats why you get a service plan and buy it from BestBuy. I felt really dirty saying that, ewww. Never again. Never again. I always try and op for the extended service contracts, but i know they're not always an option.
Pizza, he bought a AKAI tv, best buy wouldn't carry that brand of TV or else they would lose money on their service plan.
