Game 6, Hakeem vs. Robinson in the 95 playoffs. I never seen any MVP get that dominated in the playoffs, Hakeem was the DREAM.
Haha. After that game I was so damn entertained. I didn't really even care that we lost. I got 100 calls from UT friends and they weren't even talking ****. They all just said wow great game.
Same here. It was great. Even the last play, Law (or someone) looks to Gillispie like they are talking then they throw up the quick FT and Elonu nearly puts it back. Gillispie, the freaking wizard of basketball schemes.
That game was probably the only time in my life where I wanted Kentucky to win. I'm almost ashamed to admit it. At the same time, knowing it was such a heartbreaking loss for them makes me glad it happened. If UK is going to lose, may as well be with a stake in the heart.
So many great games from the 95 playoffs, but Game 4 of the 1997 Western Conference Finals when Eddie Johnson hit the 3 for the win was my favorite...I remember feeling like I was floating for the rest of day because I was so elated. Another game I really enjoyed watching was the Bulls/Rockets game in the 96-97 season that was on NBC. I think the game was in January...Although there wasn't anything truly remarkable about the game, I still remember that game fondly.
Game 3 of the 2004 Playoffs vs. the Lakers. Best game I've ever witnessed in person. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Ljv8QdtAfwk&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Ljv8QdtAfwk&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
best; agree with the first poster; the osu/Texas triple ot game; ironically we've gone in the tank since that game worst game-i was living in Phoenix in the 90's when they came back on us from 20-some points in the fourth; didn't even want to go to work the next day and deal with their idiot fan base; oh, well we won the series!!!
The best I've ever been PRESENT for was last season's Steve Novak 3 against Sacramento. Ron Artest almost derailed the streak BY HIMSELF. The best I've ever SEEN? There were 6.5 great games in 1994 that I loved (stupid O.J. chase, though I have the DVDs). There were 4 great games in 1995. And I LOVED the '95 San Antonio and Phoenix series; the image of Mario Ellie hitting that shot has been burned in my mind since I was 10 and a half years old. Best NON-ROCKETS game? Suns/Spurs in the regular season in 2005 is a big one. I hadn't been watching basketball for a while, and that game got me back into the game. It reminded me of why I loved basketball so much. And man, Steve Nash, Joe Johnson, Shawn Marion, Amaré Stoudemire? How did that team not win the Finals? Last season's Game 1 between the Suns and Spurs is pretty high up there as well. Other notables? Lebron destroying the Pistons, MJ's flu game, and Hakeem's Quadruple Double against Milwaukee in 1990... and the Warriors in 1990. I admit looking up the dates and opponents up on Wikipedia, not the memory of Hakeem's two quadruple doubles.
As a Blue Devil fan, I have to say one of my two fave/best games is indeed Duke v. Kentucky as previous posters mentioned: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ceLlz7dOOvY&fmt=18 Annnnd as a Rockets fan, 13 points in 33 seconds, against the SPURS of all teams - you can't beat the raw clutch power T-Mac displayed, even when being defended by two of the best defenders in the league (Bowen and Duncan): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ceLlz7dOOvY&fmt=18 Yeah. Those two clips pretty much never get too old for me.
Villanova vs. Georgetown, 85 Title Game Chicago vs Cleveland, Eastern Conference 1988 1st Round, Game 5 .... I wonder why that game is so important.
well since im only 17 i cant say i remember the championship years but im not gonna lie, the best game ive ever watched live was t-macs 13 pt 35 sec game hopefully that changes this year with a game 7 finals win and we become 08-09 ClutchCity Champs!!!
