After watching today's game, I realized (as I should have a long time ago) that Walt Williams is a more versatile player than Matt Bullard or Sam Mack (of course, now Sam Mack is gone for good). Walt is a good 3-point shooter, but unlike Bull, he is also more of a "scorer" than just a "pure shooter" -- he can cut to the hoop and dunk the ball, he can even run the floor. He is also a decent passer, in fact, he said that he is called "the wizard" for his passing, not his shooting. Although I wouldn't say he has much wizardry in his passing game, he can certainly throw some alley hoops to Stevie or Mobley. Now the interesting thing is Walt himself mentioned that he will be part of the Rockets' rebuilding. We all seemed to think that it was just Walt's wishful thinking on his part, but maybe there is some truth in it after all? Bullard himself may not be a trade bait, but with him, Bryce Drew and the 4.5 mil. trade exception (pardon me if I mis-interpreted the trade exception here), maybe we can get a decent fre agent. Sailor ------------------ If Dream was a horse ... he would not be pulling your bandwagon anymore.
Walt is obviously a more talented scorer as he can shoot from just about anywhere. Bullard on the other hand is a 3 point specialist. Both can't play defense. Obviously if they were paid the same, Walt would stay. However, Walt is way overpaid at 4.5 mil instead of about 1 mil something for Bullard. That's about the only reason we want Bullard to stay. He's more cost effective. ------------------ A big time draft site has tried to stunt our growth, but we will succeed! The little draft site that could!
I don't want to get rid of Bullard cause he's a "leader" and plus he seems like a really nice guy. But I gotta say that Walt is much more talented than Bull is. And Walt fits our new offense better than Bull does. The only time Bull is effective is on a pick and roll with Francis. Bull is like a much less versatile version of Bryce Drew. But, even though I like Bullard, I guess I must say that I'd rather keep Walt. ------------------
"Walt or Bull, who would you want to stay." You mean we have to keep one? ------------------ NOTHING BUT .NET CLUTCHCITY.NET
Clutch that is mean. I am a fan of the bull and want him to stay. I would like them both. ------------------ ~John~ The Cheese Is In. Join us game nights in the chat room. JohnyRocket's Fan Site
Neither... Walt: overpaid, underperforms, inconsistent, not getting younger. Bull: One dimensional, old I guess if we were forced to keep one, I'd keep Bullard because he's cheap. ------------------ I have a dream.........his name's Hakeem.
Hmmm... talentwise, Id keep Walt. Moneywise, I'd keep Bull. I think I would go with Bull and save some moolah for a good player. Besides, it wouldn't cost the Rockets that much when they decide to waive him cuz hes too old. Beautiful plan. OH! It seems Jenna has a sock fetish. *master of Manteca raises his knee-high socks* No, really, Im reallly wearing them. I always wear them when Im about to play ball. ------------------ Not only am I president of the WaltWizFanClub, I'm also the member.
Alaskansnowman: "Bull is like a much less versatile Bryce Drew." That comment should rocket Bullard to the brodcasting booth next year. That is just horrible, I mean how much versatility does Bryce Drew have to spare? ------------------
Matt Bullard: Highest 3-pt percentage in Rocket history, plus somewhat improving defense. Hard picks for guard oriented offense. Walt Williams: Mediocre at best in any aspect of the game. Seems ten years older than he really is. I would go with the Bull. Also over Drew, Massenburg, and Gray.
Ahhhhhhhhhh........ Game time, down by two with 6.4 seconds left, sideline entry to .......... ? Bull, of course. At half the salary and twice the humor, and 7pts/19 minutes with a 45% - 3pt shooter (as opposed to Walt with a well fed 9.4pts in 23 minutes and a 34% trey shooter) Bull should be a shoe-in. Well, except if Walt is playing really hard, and that means it's his thirteenth game (he would have stunk-up the place in the previous twelve), and that means he will score double figures (10 to 14 pts) but only after giving up 25 to some second tier opponent. While charging Les Alexander $55,000.00 per game for the pleasure of having him wear the Rocket's Red Glare. Hey Will Odds are Bull would be the first to recognize the face and be able to find it with a razor. Walt would either miss it altogether or try to pass it to anyone not wearing a Rocket's jersey. If it means anything, Bull's wife is a beautician, so... well... ummm... nevermind. I remember the Wizzer when he came out was pretty highly regarded as a passer. I have no clue what happened to the guy. He was a really good passer in college. ------------------ <this space for rent>
I'm with Clutch and Dreamer If we must keep one. . . Keep BULL Walt is ok . . but I'm still not over the 25 game vacation he took in the middle of the season. 4.5 mill???? Please how many Moochies can we get for that? [Not to mention PIGS w/ toothpick include] HUSTLERS!!!! Maybe one would be tall enough to even make my friend DaDakota Proud!! [If not we can have them stand on each other's shoulders] Rocket River ------------------
Hmmmm....let's see here.... I like Walt's socks. At one point in time I had a close up of the socks as a screensaver - crazy, eh? His hair is kinda nice sometimes, too. The major problem I have with Walt is he wears #42....I'm still bitter over the Willis trade As for Bull, he's got a great sense of humor - always a plus for those week-long road trips. He also has a cute little tatoo of a Bull on his left (I think) ankle. I like that tatoo.... If I have to chose one, I'd say keep Walt, because I am more interested in his socks than anything else listed above. Wait....was I supposed to base my opinion on their on-court performance???? If so, for right now, I'd just stick them on the IR and try out Moochie at the 3/4 ------------------ Jen Round One of Malone v. Rodman: Advantage Malone
better idea....get Bull to retire and replace Lisa Malosky(?) on the TV broadcasts...Trade Walt and Drew....Get some more good players for next year....this losing sh*t suxs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ------------------ Lar Go ROXZ!!!!! Lottery or No Lottery Losing on Purpose is NOT Acceptable!
Will, You mean the one that doesn't kill him self with it. All those misses Walt . . . He goes the the Chin *CLACK* just missed his jugular Rocket River ------------------
