Any number involving Robinson's numbers and winning contributions may be slightly skewed, considering he came into the league at an older age and had TD the last several years.

That's a good point, because he wasn't the primary option when Duncan came on the scene and the championships came along.

Garbage report. I can understand Shaq with all his rings and whatnot, but David Robinson? Lies. Robinson got owned by Hakeem almost every time and choked when it counted. Only when Duncan came along did he get his rings.

Interesting comparison between Dream and D. Robinson. While I certainly agree with everyone here that Hakeem was the better player I think a lot of the younger guys only know Robinson as MVP that was torched by Dream. In reality, Robinson was a fantastic player who came closer to matching Dream's blend of freakish athleticism and skill than anyone else. He is certainly not a top 5 Center but he is certainly in the top 10 (and a much better player than Ewing was IMO).

The national media widely considered Robinson to be the better player until Dream turned his game up a notch, became the best player in the game, started winning Championships and torched Robinson in that playoff series.

Of course Rocket fans knew who the better player was before all of that.

I love that quote. It's so painful for Spurs fans.

There has been lots of trash talking between Spurs and Rockets fans before the 95 WCF and I've engaged in a few.

They honestly believed Robinson was better. Then you know what happened, then Spurs fans drop this ' he was traveling' crap on it.

Then they give Rodman away for nothing to the Bulls.

Then their stadiums have always sucked, either a giant football stadium, to an ugly stadium in the middle of nowhere .

They owe us for Robert Horry, the whole league does.

Read this when it first came out. I agree that Robinson's overall numbers and efficiency was better than Olajuwon's during the regular season but, like everyone knows, you don't make your name in the regular season. Hakeem's game during the regular season was on par with Robinson's but Dream extended his game even further during the playoffs. He had that extra gear to propel himself and the Rockets forward. Robinson was just another player putting up good numbers but didn't effect the game one bit...almost like a Karl Malone or a Kevin Garnett. Hell, even O'Neal had that extra push during the playoffs/Finals that Robinson seemed to glaringly lack.

Nah, the Spurs and their fans used to be cool. But that was the Gervin-Gilmore hard liquor (and more) Hemisphere era. Ever since TLM arrived they and their fans became a bunch of lobotomized pansies.

Very true. Robinson is in the Malone and KG company when it comes to offering less come playoff time than in the regular season. Truth is Charles Barkley was better than them in the playoffs, and Charles will readily admit Hakeem was better than him.

    LOL @ that article!!
If you asked David Robinson himself who was better between himself and Dream he would say hands down Dream was better. This is worse than Blender proclaiming Tupac as the most overrated rapper of all time!

This is an evil world when Tupac and Hakeem are hated. Evil is real.
