Blockbuster trades are always possible, but virtually all of the notable free agents are accounted for and, with the start of training camp less than three weeks away, teams are geared to go.

However, while some ball clubs have greatly improved their rosters during the offseason, others have gotten worse. Here's a quick look at the teams who make up both categories (listed alphabetically).

    For better

HOUSTON: Should Ron Artest be willing to share ball-time with Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady, should he continue playing mad-dog defense, should he avoid trying to impose his head-strong personality on his teammates, and should he stay out of trouble — then the Rockets will take a giant step upward. Indeed, their winning a championship would not be out of the question.

However, should Ron-Ron fail to do any of the above, he will totally destroy team chemistry and the Rockets will be in for a long, aggravating season.

with the caveat that should Artest fail to do ANY of the things Rosen listed down, the Rockets will have their team chemistry utterly destroyed and yada yada. He can't give a compliment without adding some doom and gloom somewhere in there.

Our chemistry is way too strong for any one single individual to destroy it. Their distractions would simply dissolve.

Even Artest would tell you that this team doesn't need him. Even he thought we were good enough to be champions last year if we were healthy.

It is unbelievable how many tools there are out there. Should these writers come up with a new topic and stop being redundant? Should these writers get to know our, or any team, 1st? Should these writers stop acting like morons?

Should any of these things happen maybe they would get a little more respect

I know this is a "Rockets-Only" fans forum, but...

You guys can't seriously be homers 24/7. You have to be realistic too.

Artest isn't some softy who, when angry, decides to sit in the locker room and suck his thumb. He is the type of people who gets in your face, and fast.

Homer = Artest won't ruin the chemistry of this team. Realistic = While he may not RUIN the chemistry, the disruption alone will probably be enough for us to lose a few games because of it.

I think, though, Artest + Adelman (that alone) will help set Artest straight. Not to mention #1 and #11 on this team.

Yeah. Those two guys will help too.

    :D

Everything Rosen writes about us always has a "but" or "if" to it. I still remember not too long ago, the article he wrote on the best centers of all time and failed to mention Dream. Dude's out of touch.

Ron'll be fine. I'm sure the media will be probing him as much as they can though.

I agreed with rosen that ron ron is the next coming for the rox, but he can destroy what we built so far.

However, I think the chances of that is very small. Maybe if he sign him for a long term contract than he may act up in his 2nd or 3rd year.

Both Tmac and Yao are willing passer and able to take back seat and let artest do all the scoring and flashes. Both Yao and Tmac cares about playoff and winning, plus it gives both Yao and Tmac more rest time.

adelman needs to take the benefit of our bench and rest tmac and Yao more.

Does anyone other than me think it's entirely possible that Ron will behave himself this season?

He will change the chemistry of the team just by being someone different in the locker room, that doesn't mean that it's going to disrupt what was already there or prevent things from getting done.

There are a whole lot of reasons for him to bite his tongue and do what's best for the team... not the least of which is to get a new contract and possibly make a deep run in the playoffs.

Yes there is doubt, but hope is not the same thing as being a homer.

Can we never post Rosen's work ever again? He said a rare good word for the Rockets, but we all already know what he shared, and he would simply be the vast minority if he said otherwise. Charlie Rosen is trash.
