It is an interesting statement by Biden re debating Palin. Can anyone imagine if Hillary had been the candidate them saying how will Romney or whoever be able to debate her without making her look like a sympathetic victim who is being picked on. The very question of debating Palin, basically assumes she does not know much about national or foreign policy since she is pretty devoid of public statements on any of these issues.
I still think Biden is a great pick, maybe not cosmetically, but governing wise, I think he has more knowledge then all three.
o'reilly just asked palin publicly on his show for her to go and "debate" with him rather than give the same speeches over and over.
Honestly, I think by the time the VP debate happens, the koolaid on Palin will loose it's sweetness a bit and he will eat her lunch on issues. Sure, she is smart and will be able to memorize her talking points on issues given to her by the Karl Rove campaign design team, but there will be no teleprompter to help her when she has to think on an unprepared question or response to an issue. Biden is very well versed on EVERY single issue out there and has answered them for years. He has been through presidential debates so there really isn't anything that will catch him off guard. She will have to perform brilliantly to compete with him. Possible but not likely.
man o'reilly would slaughter her. no way in hell she ever goes on his program. but it would be hilarious if she did.
I don't watch O'Reilly, but do you think he would be as hard on her as he was with Obama or any other politician? Im just curious.
he criticized her today for giving the same speech over and over. i don't think he would be as forceful, but for his reputation sake, he did say if she doesn't come on his show, he doesn't think she's ready to be VP point blank
I think palin will be a tough debate actually. In debates they rarely ask follow up questions, Palin can look very good giving her canned stump speech responses to all of the ?s.
I would agree with this, so Biden is gonna have to figure out a way to expose her with his answers and put her on defense...or all of his experience will be for nothing.
That is very probably true from the standpoint of politics as usual... or even foreign affairs... I wonder if anyone else caught him on meet the press? He said he, while a Catholic and opposed to abortion, cannot let that guide his politic views on whether or not someone can or cannot have one... which I can respect, I guess... it's harder for me to separate the issues, which I why I will never run for an office in politics... That point being understood, the point I found to be somewhat, -somewhat- conflicting was that while he wants the right to abortion to be legal, he does not want it to be funded by public money (or government funds)... yet at the same time he wants universal government funded health care... which would in turn fund abortions with public money... So tell me how that one works? FWIW - My views on abortion, as I have stated a number of times, are different from Palin... much more like GHWB... I would think it could be allowable in the cases of rape or incest... however, I simply detest the idea of convenience abortions. If people are responsible enough to do the nasty, they should be responsible enough to take the proper steps to insure they do not become pregnant. That all said, we all know that in a perfect world those ideas would always work.. and there are cases in which an "unwanted" pregnancy occurs... In these cases, I still think the consequences should be lived with... unwanted, or undesired children should be placed up for adoption at birth - which leads me to my point that also agree with McCain on... Adoption should be easier in America. There are many children that are not adopted Stateside while people go overseas and adopt seemingly at will. Anyway... with Palin seeming to be the first name that pops up with the abortion issue and/or abortion seeming to be one of the first issues that pops up when Palin's name is mentioned... I'm sure this will be a topic.
