Are we going to switch away color to white and home color to red anytime soon? I don't see why white is our home color when our tradition has been rockets red. Especially this year since its "Get Red".

If white is one of your colors it has to be home otherwise it would be confusing.

We're actually going red for the very first home game, but it's just the first game I believe.

Yeah, I think the rules are that the home team has to wear their light color jerseys and the road team has to wear their dark color jerseys. It's not like football where the home team has the option of what color jersey to wear.

There are exceptions. Teams have alternate home jerseys (Lakers-White, Hornets/Sonics - Yellow). On retro nights teams will often wear their dark jerseys. And sometimes when teams change uni designs, they'll wear their road unis for a game to give the home fans a little taste. But I think you need league permission for these things.

I can't recall a team, Rockets or otherwise, wearing their dark unis at home on any regular basis.

The Lakers use Gold for home. (except sundays and holidays)

I think its always been white at home, colors on the road, for people who have black and white televisions.

I know that the NHL recently switched where the home team will wear colored sweaters.

In football and baseball, its whatever the home team chooses.

I remember a game agaisnt Toronto where we wore the whites on the road. Its because Toronto wanted to trot out their new Canada red jerseys.

I don't know about the NBA, but the NFL has a legue mandate on the jersey color for home and away I believe. I could be wrong but you have to get legue approval to chang the color of your road games.

In the NFL, the home team can choose the color of the jersey, and the other team have to choose a contrasting color, if you wear dark jersey the away team has to wear light jersey.

But in the NBA, the home team has to be light-color jersey

It used to always be very stringent, light/white for home, alternate/dark for away. Alternates being very rare.

Nowadays it's green, yellow, black etc alternates at home. Throwbacks whenever it you feel like it and if your on the road you are at the mercy of the home teams preference for the night.

if we wear white on the road, what will the opponent wear?

maybe the whole league should adjust to us.

Most of the teams in the NBA have white home jerseys. We will play in red ones at Toyota Center only in the 1st game of the season.

Then , we'd better give up the white jersey and choose a darker color(at least it should be a little bit darker than the 'rockets red') for our away jersey, and the red jersey will become our home jersey automatically.

As that I'm an idiot ,or crap :D so do you genius have some good ideas about what color should our away jersey use? I suggest dark green that is turtle's color. You know turtles can live many many years longer than human beings because they can keep themselves healthy thoughout their lives.I really hope the rockets are able to keep healthy throughout the upcoming season, just like the turtles. Besides, our team has good defence while turtles also have great defence with the help of their tortoieshells.our team has a similarity with the turtles in defence so that turtles can represent our team well. Further more, battier graduated from Duke which is just represented by turtle , so shane may feel more enjoyable because of the turtle green.

because the home team is always white in the NBA. Unless its the Lakers, in which gold is the home color, but gold is a lighter color.
