Sexism is a matter of fact in this country. However, I think Palin's lack of national exposure had a lot more to do with the treatments that she received than her gender.
So mocking her laugh, how she dressed, how she looked, calling her a "b****" or a "c(nt" all had to do with politics?
This is probably closest to what I think. So far, Palin is getting a "free ride." She stood up in front of 38 million people and lied. Who's called her out on it? I saw Obama on Countdown tonight and Keith Dobermann tried to get him to get passionate about Palin, about the issues, about anything. Instead, Barack plodded through the same old political line candidates have been trotting out before time was time - "I have faith in the American people that by election day they will know who represents real change, and who is saying it, but is going to continue the failed policies of the (fill in the blank... in this case, Bush) administration. The whole time with a broad smile on his face. All I can say about the performance is that he better **** or get off the pot. That just ain't gonna cut it. If he can't find his passion and rip McCain/Palin on the egregious BS spewing out of their campaign while looking like he feels it, who else is going to do it for him? I thought this was the guy who would hit back hard and had the money to do it. If he is that guy, I wish he would start with the program. Color me waiting for the (!) to hit the fan!
Does Trader_Jorge go to strip clubs? Oh my, I would have never guessed! Now that's content you can believe in!
Yes - because she entered the world's biggest stage. And... on the personal side... no. But then, refer to my first answer on why that's kind of expected anyway. I have mixed feelings, but I expected no less. Though the tone of some it has seemed sexist, misogynist, etc. Some of the digging or rumor starting that the infant son was really her daughters was completely stupid. But the rest is politics as usual.

I have to disagree about Obama's strategy. If he and a perceived left wing mouthpiece like Olbermann sat there and passionately attacked Palin and McCain now, it would have looked like the same ol' politics, and turned people off. There is no doubt that Obama has the ammunition to go as negative and underhanded and personal as he wants. That is what the GOP want to happen. If that happens Palin inspires their religious right voters to turn out, and all of those that were hoping for a change that Obama was hoping to excite and get out to the polls will stay home just all the elections we had before. The media right now is going through an investigation into Palin. They are uncovering her and McCain's lies. Obama is wise to let the media continue to do it's job, and gather the ammunition needed to formulate issues based attacks, and to further contrast Obama's style of leadership and politics vs. McCain's. He can unleash in a better situation and time where it doesn't seem like ganging up on people who have a lot of sympathy right now. Better to let the media shine a light on some of the McCain and Palin's weaknesses to dull their sharp edge, and strike back in an issues oriented way.
I voted no, but that is because I believe just about EVERYONE is treated unfairly by the media. In today's world of pop-journalism, every story has more holes of missing facts than anything They throw anything and everything out there without even the slightest investigation. Rarely is anyone treated fairly by the media, especially when politics is involved.
