Ok, I know nothing about college football since I focus most of my attention on the Rockets and the Astros, but I joined this league just because my friend was begging me. There are 16 teams, cost was $5 per team, so the winning team receives $80. If you guys can help me with this, I will donate all $80 to the Clutchfans Tip Jar.

In case you are unsure how a suicide league works. Each week you must pick 1 winner out of the given matchups, if you are wrong even once, you lose. The catch is, you cannot pick the same team more than once. I got lucky the first week taking Iowa State, so from here on out I need your help.

Here are the matchups for this week:

    Northwestern St. @ Baylor
    Eastern Washington @ Colorado
    Louisiana Tech @ Kansas
    Montana St. @ Kansas St.
    Southeast Missouri St. @ Missouri
    Texas @ UTEP
    Texas A&M @ New Mexico
    Texas Tech @ Nevada
    Houston @ Oklahoma St.
    Cincinnati @ Oklahoma
    San Jose State @ Nebraska

So I need to pick 1 winner out of the group. I have to get it right otherwise I'm out, but I won't be able to pick that team again.

    Thanks for your help!

UTEP gave up over 400 yards of offense to Buffalo last week. Not the Bills. The University of... I'd say UT has a bit more offensive talent than does Buffalo.

Out of the games listed, I'd have to say it's the surest bet. It's also UT's easiest game the rest of the way...well, except maybe for the Rice game. I'd go with them since most of the rest of their games are in no way easy picks.

Early in the season, you should take one of the weaker teams because, well, their easiest games are early in the season. If I were yo, I would take Nebraska over San Jose St. who just barely beat UC-Davis last week.

I dunno, just looking at the list with limited knowledge about NCAA football, I'd say you need to pick against Montana St.

I mean come on, Montana State!

Baylor is the easy choice here.

Texas should be a for sure winner.

A&M might be out to redeem themselves after last season.

By the way, do you get any extra points for calling upsets?

I ended up taking Baylor, thanks for everyone's help. If Baylor wins and I'm still in it, I'll post the matchups for next week in this same thread. Cross your fingers!

Thanks for everyone's help, Baylor definitely won last week! I have until Wednesday afternoon to make the next pick. Here are this weeks matchups:

    Kansas @ South Florida
    Kansas St. @ Louisville
Nevada @ Missouri (Thanks The Cat, it shows how much attention I pay to college football)
    Nebraska @ New Mexico St.
    Oklahoma @ Washington
    Oklahoma St. @ Missouri St.
    Texas @ Arkansas
    Texas Tech @ SMU

I need to pick another winner, but remember, once I pick a team I won't be able to pick them again (that's why you don't see Iowa St. or Baylor on the list).

    Thanks again!

For clarification, it's Nevada @ Missouri, though obviously I'd save Missouri for later in the season when you need your heavy hitters.

Out of that group, I'd take Oklahoma State, hands down. KU and KSU are in iffy spots, and while New Mexico State sucks, I'm pretty sure Missouri State sucks more. :) And I'd save UT, OU, MU and Tech for when the games get tougher.

Agreed. Ok State or Nebraska are the right choices here depending on what the rest of the Big XII schedule looks like for the rest of the season.

Pugs, take Ok State for sure, then take Nebraska in Week 7 when they play Iowa State or Week 8 when they play Baylor.

I hope everyone is doing well after the storm. Here is the updated list of the College games for this week:

    West Virginia @ Colorado
    Sam Houston State @ Kansas
    Buffalo @ Missouri
    Rice @ Texas
    Miami @ Texas A&M
    Massachusetts @ Texas Tech

Nobody lost last week  hopefully now that the options are getting smaller, some other people will start losing. Thanks again for your input!
