And how's media scrutiny/interest of Edwards compares to Palin?

Is anyone else finding it humorous and ironic that Jorgie is whining about the story as false and demanding apologies after the whole Michelle Obama Hates Whitey video episode that turned into nothing?

 

That story has not yet run its course. The rumor was that the tape would be released in October. Until Nov 1 hits, we won't know.

I read about it last week on Drudge so obviously T_J has known about this story for days. The Enquirer sent the same reporters who worked the Edwards story to Alaska and the McCain campaign threatened legal action and the Enquirer hasn't backed down.

Here are have a rumor about infidelity that might affect the outcome of an election But we KNOW McCain cheated on his 1st wife and that gets no coverage at all. In fact, it doesn't seem to concern conservatives at all.

 

Morality only applies to other people and when it help to drive the base.

 

Except that it's your opinion of why he chose Palin. So it's really you who are degrading things.

 

I'll say it again, since people conveniently look the other way:

Nobody cares about the *cheating*. People care about *lying* about it - ie Dollar Bill. We seem to just LOVE the cheaters in this country these days.. nothing warms the heart like a reclamation project.. like a reformed sinner.. like someone as weak and imperfect as all of us.

But what we DON'T like is being blatantly lied to.

Now I do not know any of the details of this current Palin thing. However, I also know that I have not seen her look into a camera and directly at us and LIE about it the way Dollar Bill did. And to be fair, I don't remember Edwards lying about it either - he is just a skunky weasel for campaigning alongside his loving cancer-stricken wife, all the while shtupping some broad on the sly.

As far as it appears at the moment, the two of them may only be guilty of trying to keep their private business private, which I cannot fault them for.

But let them look me in the eye and LIE to me about it - then you have a completely different kettle of fish, and then the proverbial poop will be hitting the fan.
