How will you mold this team coming to the training camp and the start of the season.. How will you tinker the rotation.. How will you shape the line ups.. We have seen the players game and style.. This would be quiet hypothetical but its a reason why this forum exist.. How could the team develop, especially with the new acquired players and how to manage these players inside the locker room.. Everything will be in detail when training camp starts.. What would be the coach first move? share!
If I was coach Adelman I'd die a very happy man, having coached the greatest team on the face of the earth. I swear, that or Coach K. the thing with RA is that he really can't mess up. Looking at the olympic team we see that a rotating bench is never a bad thing. True, we don't have near that depth, but the concept still can float through. I really look to RA twiddling and experimenting through the beginning of the season. True, this could have negative side effects and we could drop a couple early games, but for the most part I think it's worth it. I think the first 6 games we lost had a lot of influence on our 22 win streak last season.
If I were coach Adelman, I have to convince my player to sacrifice for the team to win the championship this season. I know Last season's roster acknowledges that their efforts were not enough and injury cost everything. Coach Rick Adelman should encourage team effort! It's about the team! With the addition of Ron Artest, I can see Tmac coming off the bench, that's what Coach Rick Adelman did when T-mac was still recovering from the injury and then the 22 game win streak started. It was the time T-mac was humbled to play team orriented Basketball. We have remembered How Coach Van Gundy have pushed T-mac to lead the team and T-mac even take the responsibility for the 2007 playoffs "It's on me" thing! As T-mac has been recovering now, I think giving playing time and using the depth of the team is very appropriate so that we could avoid injury and to stay healthy. This is a team basketball not just a BIG THREE nor a BIG FOUR!!! Go Rockets!!!
If i were coach A I would start with the line-up last season for the first month and see how it goes then build of that, just adjusting playing time and rosters as well as giving our young guys some playing time.
Rafer McGrady Battier Scola Yao Bench Brooks/Stoudamire/Francis Barry/Artest/Francis Artest/Harris/Barry Landry/Hayes/Artest Mutombo/Dorsey/Hayes I would start battier and allow artest to have the offense be run through him as the leader of the 2nd unit.ron will get more shots off the bench and will still play 30+ off the bench by alternating from SF to PF. maybe even some SG. If we do endup signing mighty mouse, i would get him to be either the 2nd string or the 3rd string PG. forget about francis. mighty mouse>Steve. damon still has game. he was just stock in a bad fit. If we wanna play transition trapping defense you could allways go with Rafer Tracy Battier Artest Dorsey or hayes If we wanna go big then we'll go with tracy Battier Artest Scola Yao. If we want shooter out there then we would go with mighty mouse if signed Tracy Barry Battier Artest Thats litte size handicapped team, but it's full of good shooters who can get up the floor to get you quick points.
Tinker, Tinker. We have 6 guys who are going to play 30 minutes: 1. Rafer 2. McGrady 3. Artest 4. Yao 5. Scola 6. Battier That leaves 60 minutes for everyone else. 7. Barry 20 8. Brooks 10 9. Landry 20 (if he ever signs) 10. Backup Center 10 The tinkering will simply be to have at least two out of Yao/McGrady/Artest/Scola on the floor at all times to provide offensive focus. The other challenge will be in finding the right mix at the point to play behind Rafer. I don't think either challenge is a big one. I think either Barry or Brooks playing behind Rafer will be fine.
I am just pumped about the D we could play in the 4th. We could just about shut down everyone. When we play Hayes, Artest, Battier, Yao, and Strawberry we'll have the best D-lineup in the league. The cool thing about this is that we also can score enough to get by.
We might be able to get a third round pick, but I would take a fourth. There is no way we'll get a pick for that guy. He is a turnover machine and can't play D at all.
-Post up yao and let Artest drive. -Play alot of double team defence with artest and battier -Isolation mac with artest in the wing -Post up Artest, with yao waiting for the double team. LoL -Give yao rest with Scola heavy mins at C This team is gonna win alot of games if healthy!geez I would start this rotation: 1st String Yao C Landry PF Artest SF Tmac SG Alston PG 2ND String Scola C Battier SF Barry SG Francis PG Hayes PF 3RD String Brooks PG Dorsey C IR Strawberry DLeague IR Santaigo C IR Head SG (Trade bait if francis dont work out)
stupid idea. Scola played great in his first season as a rookie and even on the olympics he showed how great he is even against good defense so he has to be sure starter. the same situation with alston. i know he's had his ups and downs but i belive he can run the offense well for this team ( i hope he finally understands he should be a real PLAYMAKER) and he's got the expierence. That is what Brooks is missing right now.
If I was rick adleman i would be outside right now shooting two guns in the air, wearing a cowboy hat, just a hootin' and a hollerin'.
I don't a whole on what Adelman is conjuring up right now but I would suggest. Starters Alston T-Mac Battier Scola Yao Reason: Same experienced squad that won 22 games last years. Don't break the mold. Bench - 8 man rotation Artest - Bring him off the bench like Manu Ginobili but give him starter type minutes with shuffling between him, T-Mac and Battier. Landry - We need him in there when Yao goes on the bench. He is a force in the paint and needs to be fed the ball. Barry - He will be our outside shooter plus he can take duties as backup PG for small stretches. Utility players these guys only come in on certain situations or to give better match ups. Brooks - When we play uptempo style teams and need to push the ball down the court with speed. Also he could used to counter the trap if needed. Head - If Barry is having an off night then he should play spot up shooter Hayes - Defense in crunch time. Last five minutes of the game I play this lineup T-Mac at pg Artest Battier Scola Yao That is my roster. Strategy one phrase : Yao Ming touches the ball on ever possession PERIOD!
A lot depends on Dorsey and how quickly he adapts to the NBA game, also how successful the coaches are in retraining Alston,Brooks and possibly Francis into becoming pass first Point Guards. The one who makes the best conversion would be the starting PG with Yao Ming. I would play Allston as PG,Tracy as a tall Shooting Guard in the starting 5 as well as Landry and Scola as Forwards as they are great at putbacks and making great assists off missed shots.Yao at Center My second Five would be Brooks at Point Guard, Barry as a tall shooting guard (they could share the duty as playmaker) Battier and Ron Ron as Forwards and Dorsey as Center. (Ron Ron would be given the green light to take over the game, but instructed to be more of a team player) My backups who would get time in special circumstances: Hayes, Strawberry and Leunen Extra reserves drawn from Harris, Francis, Head or Mutombo ( or who ever the Wizard gets us in a trade) If Morey gets us a starter type, then we must start again to arrange our playing order!
Yao Ming touches the ball on ever possession like Dream used to do! Man, that was great, I remember how passing the Dream was in the 80's, you would never get it back!
