no he hasn't had a free pass. we've dug up a lot on obama (ayers, rezko, reverend wright, his brother george, his smoking pot... that's plenty of stuff right there for the republicans to work with).

but again, this response is still a "whiner" response. your candidate said herself in regards to the attacks in clinton, "STOP WHINING." take that advice of your own candidate.

I think the conservative media has brain washed the living day lights out of you people.

Your reasoning ="who would you rather have a beer with voter"

One team's foul is the other team's great play. It depends on your viewpoint. BTW, Obama is my candidate. There's just not enough conservatives / moderate conservatives on this board to allow a level playing field.

Did anyone think that the GOP would let something as piddly as this Alaskan independent investigator stand in the way of the $ tens or hundreds of billions at stake for the Bush-McCain cronies on Nov. 4?

You must be out of your mind. Obama has been in the spotlight and under the pressure-cooker for 18 months. He's endured numerous blows and the shine was knocked off of him a long time ago. For you to say Obama has gotten a "free pass" from the press is completely ridiculous. Do you live on Earth? Whether over the long years or the last 18 months, Obama, McCain & Biden have been shot at, beaten up and given rectal examinations. Palin is the new kid on the block and needs the same done to her. I am confident it will happen and fewer people will be giddy. When the right-wing, woman, mother of 5 (including a Downs Syndrome baby) , "reformer" label is peeled back and people take a look at what she really is, I'll be satisfied. At the moment, she is more of a list of characteristics than a real politician.

no? let me name some of the things that don't even relate to his work as a senator that have come up:

    1) rezko - some people claim he's dishonest associating with this guy
    2) ayers - some people think obama has terrorist beliefs
    3) wright - some people think he hates his country
    4) his one wife - some people claim she's unpatriotic and calls her "baby mama"
    5) just a good speaker - like graduating from harvard law school and be president of harvard review don't make you knowledgeable
    6) comes from chicago - some, including billy kristol of wall street journal, claim he got his fame from the political machine of chicago and not by his own work

    should i go on more?

and obama will address all of this ONCE AGAIN with bill o'reilly next week so republicans tune in. he already addressed this with the media but apparently no one listens to him.

I think she's the female version of George Bush the son. She has the similar likability factor when America was just starting to know him.

Bill Clinton was an "Average" Guy who was a Rhodes Scholar. I want my President not to be an AVERAGE guy. I want my President to be an "Extraordinary" Person. That means the smartest SOB on the Block. Not just go to "Yale" and be a "C" student, a B Student at the University of Idaho, or go to the Naval Academy and be LAST in his class. I want him to be a Rhodes Scholar, or Top of his class at the best schools in the country, or President of the Harvard Law Review. The President needs to be someone that has a "grasp" of the problems we have...is smart enough to have the answers and surround himself with the best and brightest that can help him get the answers.

Just listening to John McCain....he is not SMART enough to be President. I have HAD IT with a DUMB President (Thanks W).

Really? So lets line up MENSA and let them be our leaders. Being a leader has nothing to with being the smartest. If thats the case, why wasn't Eienstien or Bill Gates our president? I feel that being president is about inspiring Americans to be the best they can be. Its was Regan and JFK were best at. I'm not sure, but I don't think either of those guys were considered 'super smart' guys. What it really comes down to is that Americans don't want 'super smart' guys as thier leaders. They consider them out of touch with their concerns, 'elitist' if you will.

I don't consider Regan a great president. JFK wasn't in office long enough to say how good he was. Look.....I didn't say you have to be Super Smart to be President.......but I would rather have an A student vs. a C student. Odds are that A student is going to be more capable. Not always, but a good majority of the time.

I don't know, I've always wanted my president to be smarter than me. But that's just me.

Most Americans are dumbasses. They put Bush in office....for 8 years. Bill Gates is more powerfull than the President........so no need to run for President. Maybe if Eienstien had been President (he was not born in the US btw), the US wouldn't be so piss poor in Math and Science

Yet when Obama or Clinton (so what if he cannot keep his pants zipped), you would not vote for them correct? People do not understand that most of the great leaders in the history of the world are very smart in different ways. There have never been a stupid great leader.

Didn't the commissioner serve "at the pleasure of" the governor?

Which of these "facts" about her former brother-in-law are erroneous?

    1. Under close supervision, he allowed his step-son to experience being tasered (violation of departmental policy if not law)

    2. Killed a moose without his own license (Sarah had to "dress it" for him :D )

    3. Threatened to kill his ex-wife's and Palin's father (trooper denies it)

    4. Nabbed driving with open beer in the car on "up-to" four occasions I hear (he denies)

they may not be erroneous, and no one is denying that. but those are personal family problems; she should deal with him personally (call the police or whatever). the fact of the matter is she "may" have pressured the commissioner to fire the brother-in-law is ethically wrong.

it's like you're dating a girl in the workplace and you're the manager. she dumped you for another guy. that's a "personal" problem and you shouldn't let it affect the workplace. instead, you use your power to fire that person.
