I'll take him at Head's expense.

Assuming we have no major injuries to our top three, I'd take Head over Bonzi. I mean, what are we gonna do if Artest, Yao, Tracy, Scola and Bonzi are on the court at the same time? Post Bonzi? Haha. At least with Luther, he's low maintenance.

Why would you have T-Mac, Scola, Yao, Artest and Bonzi on the court at the same time? This just forces T-Mac to run the point and play off the ball significantlly less. Know, pairing Bonzi, Brent Barry, Battier makes sense.

We'll never have T-mac, Scola, Yao, and Artest on the bench at the same time, so either way, we'll have better options on offense than Bonzi. If we don't focus our offense on him, he becomes useless.

If we trade some more deadweight and he signs for peanuts (or doughnuts), i'm on board.

You can never be too deep. Injuries and $hit happens. Last year before the season started we had Rafer, Francis, Mike James and Brooks all at the PG spot and we were worried that we were too deep there and finding enough time for everyone there. Near the end of the season that spot was our biggest concern. Granted we are pretty deep at the 2/3 this year and the likelihood of $hit (Mike James) happening is not likely it doesn't hurt to add Bonzi especially at the expense of Head like others suggested.

For the love of God, say no to Bonzi. I would rather have Head than Bonzi at this point.

True, but Yao and Artest may be on the bench at the same. Bonzi could help ease the scoring burden for T-Mac and create looks for others.

Depends, but at this stage there is no roster space, and I'm still interested in seeing what Strawberry could do. Not to mention Aaron brooks and Dorsey. At this stage the only one I think is worth dropping is Luther, but I doubt we could resign Bonzi just like that.

He could be of some force, but I think he may have a minor grudge against us since we sort of insulted him by trading him and James for Jackson (which eventually led to an Artest).

bonzi wells is garbage. why in gods name do some of you feel like there is a need to have a fat, inconsistant, short, no defense playing, washed up discpline problem on our team? dont you understand there is a reason no one wants him?

I'd take him for Vet minimum. Pretty sad for him though, as he passed up $38.5M deal. Surprised he hasn't jumped off a building yet.

Anyway, Vet min, can't lose. But Rox has to sign Mutombo and Landry with the MLE, so not sure that's enough for Vet min even.

There were no winners in that fight. The Rockets lost that season Wells got traded and Van Gundy got fired. Actually let me restate that. The Rockets won long term because they got Adelman, Wells got us Artest, (without Jackson the Artest deal would have been difficult), we got rid of James and best of all Van Gundy was canned. Good deal for us.

Bonzi Wells , Or Ben Wallace ?
I guess you mean Bonzi because you used the word "sign back" .But I havn't seen there is any room for him on the Rockets team , you know ,we have already got adequet 2/3 rosters , like brent barry , ron ron n never to mention tmac and battier who have played on our team for years .So bonzi's game time may be even less than he had when JVG was coaching our team .And I really think bonzi should go any other team where he can get enough game time and some chances to prove his value .Besides , on the rockets side , we don't need another great wing any more , what we need now is just a big guy who can appear at 5 when yao is off the court . May be ben wallace is a little bit more useful for us than bonzi. Bonzi may play PF for some time but he is still too small to play the 5 .IN fact , there is no other guy that is big enough to play 5 except yao and deke. N deke hasn't signed because deke doesn't accept the LLE. Even though deke agree to play another year for us , we still need to find a big man to back up yao for the long term.

why would we want him? there seems to be a perception among some that he is still good. aside from his excellent passing, he can't score, is terribly inefficient, doesn't make open jumpers, finishes as bad or worse than the rest of our already terrible finsihing team, doesn't make free throws, can't play good defense, and isn't the rebounding he used to be. 5 years ago he still had talent and explosion to go along with his attitude problems, now he has nothing and we have plenty of other talent to not need him.

I don't mind signing him again but who can we drop in our packed roster.
He can still play at times last season before the trade but I wonder whether his old pal Artest will fire him up to play better. They were good friends back then at Sac town.

cant see a significant drop of numbers based on per 36mins.
    http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/w/wellsbo01.html

About his rebounding numbers, he got 5 boards a game in 22 mins for houston before he is being traded away.

About the locker room, he do not seem to have a problem last season, and i if i'm not mistaken, bonzi and james are traded for jackson, for someone that knows rick's system, able to shoot the 3 and able to play the point not to mention the contract flexibility.

If rox are able to sign bonzi, there will be no need of another 7ft center. Rox will be able to play big with small ball. (Tmac, Artest, Bonzi, Battier, Scola).

    The 2/3 spot will be big, tmac(6"8), artest(6"6), Bonzi(6"5), Battier(6"8), Barry(6"6).

Or whenever tmac goes to the bench, you want a physical presence, put in bonzi, you want outside shooting put in barry.

With Barry expected to slide to play the point, and artest expected to cover the power foward spot as well. I cant see why bonzi cant get his 20mins per game.

Not to mention that, bonzi is someone that have played and is able to play rick's offense.
