Can we trust this kind of thing?

Why has no one else been asking about these things?

dude, mccain basically took off the experience thing in his own speech when he only mentioned it 3 times.

experience is overrated. look at mccain's experience and he agreed to going to war in iraq. look at bush's governor experience and see what he has done.

if you look at the presidential history, some of the BEST presidents have the least experience as compared to others.

Now that Dubya has lowered the bar to where it's practically touching the ground, I'm sure a lot of politicians are looking at the presidency and thinking, "Well, crap, I could definitely do better than THAT."

At the end of the day both McCain or Obama are going to be a massive upgrade to Dubya.....

He talked about this in some bio i saw on cspan or something

He didn't really plan on running for pres now, but as time went on support for him and his positions grew so much that he saw that he could actually win and have enough support to make a difference when he got there,

i think one of his advisors said sometimes you wait and choose the right time and sometimes the right time chooses you.

and besides every politician when running for an office says they are not thinking about running for a higher office later

Heck, Palin said a couple weeks ago that she wants to stay and change alaska and that she doesn't even know what a VP does.

A candidate that promises change, but puts forth policies identical to the current failed sitting president has ZERO credibility with me.

And Barrack started running 2 full years after that press conference, obviously he felt he was ready....

Yeah, he talked to Daschle, Kennedy and even Kerry about it. They all agreed that the prospect of being president is mostly a one time offer (especially for Democrats it seems...), and getting struck by the lightning of popular support again is often very rare.

    It's an honest question...

How did he become ready? Popularity? Polls showed he is? What?

I honestly want to know.

This is the biggest self flip flop ever. Perhaps three days later he was enlightened and decided to run.

    BTW - Here's another one:

well look who is running the country? anyone with some capability would feel he would be ready to run the country better than george bush. and for an extremely intelligent guy like obama, he must feel over-prepared.

IROC_it, let me introduce myself. I am an Illinois lawyer who beat a number of more experienced candidates, coming "from nowhere," as it were, to win my party's primary. I won this based on my eloquence, intelligence, and pragmatism. ... And probably the beard. Oh, but I can pull the hotties with this beard.

And I didn't just win my party's nomination... I founded the party.

Curious when placed against the stories of Obama remaking the Dem Party from the ground up.
