Does anyone know a good cite to enter picks for the NCAAs. The best system would reward upsets. For instance, if you pick a 1 seed and they win round 1 you get 1 point, but if the 16 seed wins round 1 (and you picked it) you get 16 points. Or even better, you get weighted points for each winner you have picked based on how the NCAA ranked the teams 1-64. That way the difference between say correctly picking OU in the final 4 (5th ranked) is only slight from predicting Cincy (ranked 5th) versus the doubling of points if you went off strait seeding (1-16). I know it is late in the ball game, just thought I would inquire. If anyone also is a part of an ESPN group that would be helpful to know. Someone put togther a clutchcity/rockets group for college football.
Swirve.com...hurry, you have like 1 hour and 43 minutes. Seriously, we give more points for lower seeds you pick to win.
I am in the ESPN one (see the hangout) and this one. Who else is in the swirve one, I can add names to my watch list to create a minigroup. My team name is "Tucson DesertScar" for Swirve. I still haven't found the right system. I like rewarding underdogs, but with the swirve system it made picking 9, 10, 11 seeds in the 1st round or 2 seeds over 1 seeds for the final 4 really advantagous for instance. I changed some picks from the ESPN one to take adv of this system.
I don't know if I really like that idea. What does it consider an upset? If a team with a lower ranking beats a team with a higher ranking? That doesn't really prove its an upset. I mean does anybody really think Xavier is better than Hawaii. I think it should just be straight up equal points for every game. If you pick an upset then you get credit for it by getting points, when most of the other people who picked the favorite are not getting the points. That's the reward right there.
