Can only scroll down. Can't scroll up. Coincidentally, every time my FF3 would crash (atleast 10 times per day), it was while scrolling. Back to FF2.
Anyone try IE8 Beta? Word is that it's CPU efficiency blows Firefox and Chome (suprise) out of the water.
Too much work, especially since my exposure is via radio. I've heard Google bragging about how the tabs are isolated so that one crash doesn't bring the whole app down, but I believe the new Explorer is the same. MS also says the new Explorer is faster than before and works better with multimedia, just like they've been saying about Chrome. As for bugginess, don't they patch for those things?
damn i miss my blackberry. i got the new rokr e8 from tmobile now. hows opera mini? i heard its one of the best mobile browsers..
Well according to an article I read IE8 consumes more RAM than Windows XP. http://weblog.infoworld.com/enterprisedesktop/archives/2008/09/ie_8_consumes_m.html
Browsing seems much faster with Chrome-- including this bbs Mousewheel fine. Simple layout is great. I'm missing a few of my add-ons though.
Google Chrome blows chunks. I don't think anyone has to worry about Google taking over the browsing market anytime soon, lol. It's got some fast loading times sure. I miss my file, edit, view, history, bookmarks, and tools in CONVENIENT places. Maybe I just like complex browsers that use every bit of my CPU and RAM. Just like my women.
I give Google 9-12 months and Chrome should be a decent alternative to Firefox and IE. I don't believe this is another one of their "throw something against the wall and see what sticks" machinations. They will commit the resources to ensure Chrome is viable for the long term. Before it's all said and done, I wouldn't be surprised if Chrome and Firefox aren't merged together sometime in the future, especially if Chrome's market share is primarily at Firefox's expense. But if Chrome takes a big bite out of IE, no way it merges with Firefox. It's better to have two dogs in a fight than one.
Chrome is a dream with Java intensive sites. Customization is sub par, but what do you expect for a beta?
So any chrome users out there? I'm sick with how slow FireFox has become for me (loading), although I'm sure it's my fault with my plugins etc. I loved how Chrome is so clean looking so I'm giving it another try. But I'm upset with the lack of plugins? Is there no support for plugins yet? Missing some of my FF plugins.
I share the same sentiment, although one of the biggest performance issues with Firefox *is* plugin-related. The plugins make the browser slower and buggier. I think that problem could possibly be solved by overhauling the plugin architecture (XUL is great in concept but really sucks performance-wise). As for Chrome, I think often the positives outweigh the negatives enough to prefer using it over Firefox -- I just wish they would at least include a gestures feature.
Whatever happened to the guy that started this thread? He was a big CoD player but haven't seen him on here in a while.
He's banned. For what, I don't know, but if you see a poster that doesn't have the "feedback" button, they have been banned.
