They mentioned a few minutes ago that only one candidate previously in history has withdrawn their candidacy...I would suspect that in a few weeks or less there could possibly be two in history; except that John McCain is very stubborn.

Fixed. Going back on your VP? That's a flip-flop of epic proportions. No one, especially not a candidate as weak as McCain is, would survive something like that.

This is what happens when you foolishly substitute your wishful thinking for logical analysis. Your instincts are just horrible.

Look, the reason Obama and the libs have launched the kitchen sink strategy against Palin is because she is so utterly devastating to them. Now there is a difference between the attacks against Obama -- those are fueled by, in my opinion, a legitimate concern that he will ruin our country. Palin is a VP nominee with a clean record. Some of these gambits against her are just ridiculous and will not play well with women voters.

Well sticking with a bad decision seems to be the Republican theme lately. No surprise there.

I guess you consider the ongoing investigation launched by a bi-partisan group of the legislature of her state into her possible abuse of power as a clean record being attacked by the liberal media and campaign using their crystal ball to figure out that she would be McCain's VP ...right?

Seriously, your verbal diarrhea is polluting this forum. You are damaging the value of the website. This is not an open sewer for you to dump your fecal matter in. B-Bob, a long time liberal poster who actually lives in San Francisco has asked you to post less. I have also issued a call for you to post less.

We really need a separate forum to deal with noobs like this guy who just launch in on 40 bad posts in a day. We need a nursery. A day care of sorts. If your IQ is not within 2 standard deviations of The_Conquistador, then you can only post in the nursery.

It's already been argued here that it shouldn't matter because he deserved to be fired.

    And?

That's a typical "I know you're meeting" and "you have the right to assemble" and "I encourage your political involvement and participation" address.

    Big deal.

No state has the right to secede, but Texas does have the right to split into five separate states. I think we should do it. Texans could overwhelm Congress with 10 senators while not losing any House seats.

I can't blame Palin for trying. Alaska would make one heckuva nation all by its lonesome. They wouldn't have to worry about the welfare crowd, and illegal immigration would not be that much of an issue. Her speech two posts below was inspirational and laden with opportunity for all. ;)

Alaska receives the most federal funding of all the states per person. Why give up such a cushy arrangement?

In all honesty this issue makes no difference to me.

I'm on the other side as Palin in this race, and this issue along with her pregnant daughter, and the stupid ridiculous rumor of who's daughter the down's syndrome child are trivial, and not worth the time spent discussing this.

Shame on the media for treating the rumor of the down's child as real news. They shouldn't be in the business of rumor mongering.

This will hurt the GOP, and McCain's chances, and that says something is wrong with what issues the media covers, and voters chose to focus on.

I say this as an avid supporter of Obama, and someone who believes McCain would make a horrible president, so I definitely want him to lose. I just don't want it to happen based on this nonsense.

You don't need to reach to conclude that McCain made a reckless decision by not vetting his Vice-Presidential nominee. McCain looks like an old fool right now and it's going to cost him the election. I also feel bad for this poor women. She's going to be name checked forever as one of the great screw-ups of presidential politics like Thomas Eagleton, Dan Quayle, or Admiral Stockdale.

Assuming it were possible, Alaska would have enough oil, gas, lumber and other raw materials to be a very wealthy, self-sustaining nation. They wouldn't have to worry about stop-growth environmentals while being friendly to their environment. As it is, Alaska is the only state that pays its citizenry rather than the other way around.
