From what I hear Palin was a fairly last minute decision and the vetting process was a quick one, not the months-in-advance process that is typical for most campaigns. This much baggage cannot be good for a presidential campaign, whether it is fair/true or not. Three different scandalous issues within a week of the announcement. Geez.

 

Of course they say they don't know if she actually favored letting Alaska break off or not. I know basso knew a lot about Palin before this happened, and told us we'd be impressed. I wonder if this is one of the things that is going to impress us.

 

Doesn't this just fit into the maverick, pseudo-libertarian, kill-yer-own-moose-and-leave-others-alone type of thing? I'm not sure this hurts her reputation at all. The more you can put a davey crockett cap on her, the better for the ticket probably.

 

There are Texans that feel the same about Texas. I've been to meetings about it. I have since not agreed with it. I went because I was curious as to it's validity.

Well, it also fits into the "I'm running to be Vice President of a country I want my own state to get the hell away from" type of thing, which I guess wouldn't play too well with the "God Bless America" crowd.
