With less than a week left alot of people are looking forward to this season. whether you think the season will be full of great plays or alot of injuries, we in houston are loyal fans and with out further adoo, LET THE SEASON BEGIN!!!
for the most part!!! but seriously some texans love is much appreciated and we need to get clutch more into the football side of the house as well. there is no reason there should not be more posts on texans going on it should be just like the rockets so..... We need to get to work!!!
I think we will surprise the league this season....as long as we are HEALTHY with a lot of this pointed at our offense (AJ, Schaub, Green). With the pass rush a concern, I'm hoping they were just holding back during the preseason and erupt next Sunday. Hopefully we find some help from the waiver wire (DB or DL). Green knows that his days in Houston are pretty much done unless he proves he can still hang with the freshmen RBs. He looked pretty impressive at the beginning of last season and he knows he has to redeem himself especially with Slaton & Taylor rising fast. With AJ being the beast on offense, I think that the X-factors will be the contribution from Duane Brown's blind-side protection and David Anderson's clutch play. Here's to hoping Jacoby Jones getting his MoJo back and becoming a solid contributor on special teams.
you know i wished sports were all year around,BUT they are not and we got to gove the texans some love they are trying to do big things for there organization. you gotta be there through thick and thin otherwise your might as well be a bandwagoner like redrowdy111 jumping on my slaton idea!!! LOVE YA CUZ!!!
I have to be honest..... you scouted the kid from Jr. High, through a intense 4, yes 4 years in a public high school system, and then on into college. I do recall back in 1995 after the Rockets repeated, you saying, "Yep, that Slaton kid will one day be the starting running back for a hungry young semi-expansion team." Me, Kubiak, Gibbs, and Shanahan salute you, Mr. Slanton was my idea guy. Remember to drink responsibly. Geez, I guess any ol' plaza draft drinker gets membership status these days. Back when I was young, we rode a mule ten miles in the snow to become a member.
The best part of the sports year is about to begin. After a couple of months of boring baseball (YAWN!), the NFL and college football kickoff, followed by the NBA two months later. For me, that means 5 days/week following the NBA, Saturdays for college football and Sundays for the NFL. Look at it this way, Rockets training camp starts in about 4 weeks. That isn't so far off.
looks like good ol' cuz has been hitting the jager tonight, don't drink and drive you might want to jump on my jacoby jones bandwagon as well!! although he is a star on the onsides kick! Don't worry while we both know i was the first to mention slaton, its ok if we are in china i have to give you respect you are grandpa times sooooooo..... i am on the zac diles bandwagon just hopped on wanna join me!!!
Don't forget about college basketball! Starting from the college bball conference tournaments to March Madness, while NBA teams make a run for the playoffs is by far my favorite time of the year. Once the Texans reach playoff status and the Longhorns get back to being BCS worthy (perhaps this year, but a tough schedule, just like the Texans), winter will become much more important to me.
