So then... Dukakis should have been the veep?

Q only lost in the debate because of the JFK comment. The only thing that pop cultre remembers about Bensten.

You're implying that Bentsen and Edwards were worse choices than Palin because they didn't win? Those two had far far far more experience and were more logical choices than Palin. I don't know enough about Ferraro to comment on her.

Worst VP pick in my memory (since 1988). And Palin will probably be VP...death, taxes, and Democrats blowing elections are guaranteed.

You uppity liberals just hate the fact that McCain will be at the helm instead of your boy Hussein.

Might be because, like recent Democrats....he can't keep his junk in his pants, and then lies about it to the American people.

Liberals..Democrats...uppity? It amazes me how the rich republican party supporters can give off the impression that democrats are uppity. That's the ultimate turn around.

Republicans are more about cutting taxes for the rich..so who's really uppity?

I thought she was a very weak choice, myself. Thought so at the time. Agree on Bentsen, who was an outstanding choice, IMO, and would have made a fine President had he ever been elected to the office, or if he had been VP and tragedy or scandal had placed him in the White House. I really liked Edwards (voted for him in the '04 primary), and absent what has come out, he would have made a good President under circumstances simlilar to hypotheticals about Bentsen, IMO. I don't think he was as strong a VP choice as Bentsen proved to be, however. I was disappointed in his performance while on the ticket. Bentsen was aces. That ticket certainly didn't lose because of Lloyd!

Agreed on all fronts, but especially the last two sentences. People slamming Bentsen are just showing us that they have no idea what they are talking about.

I love the duties of mayor from that podunk town's municipal code. Mayor of Sealy '12!!

For what it's worth, I am a fairly moderate conservative. With the selection of Palin, McCain moved me closer to the Republican Party. I have been reading all the posters who are critical of the choice, but I strongly suspect Palin is scaring the stuffing out of most of them.

Of the women with whom I have close contact, they are with one exception thrilled with the Palin candidacy. Even the one, a Hillary fan, says she wants to take a closer look before committing. Every single one wondered why the media is calling her inexperienced as opposed to Obama's experience. To me, they have a point.

I guess making your opponent laugh to death is one strategy.
