We'll see what Johnny Mac puts up.

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080829/ap_on_en_tv/cvn_obama_s_audience

NEW YORK - Barack Obama's audience for his acceptance speech likely topped 40 million people, and the Democratic gathering that nominated him was a more popular television event than any other political convention in history.

More people watched Obama speak from a packed stadium in Denver on Thursday than watched the Olympics opening ceremony in Beijing, the final "American Idol" or the Academy Awards this year, Nielsen Media Research said Friday. (Four playoff football games, including the Super Bowl between the Giants and Patriots, were seen by more than 40 million people.)

His TV audience nearly doubled the amount of people who watched John Kerry accept the Democratic nomination to run against President Bush four years ago. Kerry's speech was seen by a little more than 20 million people; Bush's acceptance speech to GOP delegates had 27.6 million viewers.

Over and over again. Like this one:

Really, I'm happy for Obama. I watched part of it. It was one of the most historically important conventions of the television era.

I think history will decide how important it was. If Obama eventually is not elected, or he has an unimpressive presidency, do you think is this is going to be something Americans remember vividly?

Too bad he squandered his opportunity and instead engaged in the "same old same old" politics of mud slinging.

    change? hardly

    Pretty impressive audience.

Yet even more impressive nobody was talking about it today (Friday) because McCain stole his thunder.

Which is yet another reason we still have no real idea who he is and what he really stands for. His details of his own plans were far from clear and made boastful claims of Utopian bliss.

Cut taxes and fund a 150 Billion dollar plan?

And he's promised to cut the military down? Here's your cutting out of "all unnecessary programs."

The military needs rebuilding before modernization.

And now deficit spending bothers you? Where have you been?

You must be talking about the man who thinks he has a monopoly on patriotism John Mcshame.

I heard Obama attack McCain on policy issues on thursday, not brittney spears, moses, paris hilton, madonna, being a celebrity, saying obama used the race card, claiming obama is not a patriot ect...
