According to La Nacion (reported on ESPN) Ginobili will have ankle surgery and be out 6-8 weeks. Manu says it is not more damaged than before but he needs the surgery. Ginobili Surgery
good timing for sugery he will miss training camp and pre-season but he probably wont miss much of the actual season. of course the first month or so he may still not be up to game speed and all which helps every team except the spurs but the spurs are notoriously known to start slow anyway
ehh, not a big deal unless you're one of those folks who's goes gaga over watching him play. He shouldn't miss too much time because of this. He might take some early season games off to keep from re-injuring himself.
I didn't think the Spurs would be competing for best record anyway. This could mean Manu is stronger and more fresh for the playoffs.
drat! I did not think of that. I sure hope Duncan doesn't get surgery, too. We sure don't need him to get any better. Maybe we should do some surgery on Tracy's shoulder to invest in our playoff future, as well, just to be safe.
manu is starting to really break down...I wouldnt be shocked if this guy falls apart in 3 years. sooner or later he will have to become a spot up shooter only...unfortunatly for us he shoots over 40% from behind the arc. The spurs window has closed, unless they can turn that big three into the big 4 which could happen because timmy, parker and manu's are all underpaid.
...because he's such a good ball handler, with the quickness and agility to get by most defenders and you have to take that into account while guarding him...not because he's a pure shooter.
It's insane to want to trade Tmac for Manu in the first place, second thing is that I would still trade some role palyers for Manu as a six man.
Well they are now saying he will be out for 8 - 12 weeks. (I dont know if this deserves its own thread or not?) http://nba.fanhouse.com/2008/08/30/manu-might-be-out-even-longer/
