[Movie] No Country for Old Men

    Hmm. I found There Will Be Blood a bit bland at times, but DDL still left me walking out of the theater shaking my head in awe.

    No Country for Old Men, though...I dug that movie in every aspect. Surprised to see a lot of people didn't like it. It never gave you what you wanted or expected, it was uncomfortable with the death of Brolin's character, etc. I loved that about the film. It didn't follow any formulaic plot or ending, it was very thought provoking in that aspect. Of course, I'm a huge fan of Cormac MCarthy, so I like the uncomfortable narrative. I'm taking a fiction class this semester in which we're reading some Cormac, and a Film & Politics class in which we're watching and analyzing No Country. I'm excited. :]

    I'm usually a big fan of Coen Brothers movies, but I thought No Country For Old men was extremely tedious when I caught it on DVD recently. I did think the Javier Bardem character was well-acted though....

    movie was not as good as hyped imo, i just saw it recently. villan dude was too superheroish. always love tommy lee though, his dialogue was fantastic as usual
