To anyone who likes this stuff, Canadian Television and Court TV had a series called "Masterminds" which detailed million dollar heists, bank robberies, etc. and how they were eventually caught.

It was a truly fascinating series. Still shown on TruTv every now and again. Or google it.

One day when you are opening the bank you will see some guy in the bushes about to jump you near the drive-thru area, you recognize his Rockets cap and you ask "hey aren't you that guy Jeremiah from the BBS?" He lies and says no but you can tell it was him.

After you get jacked you start a thread on here, "Jeremiah just robbed me." You call the police and Clutch gives them his IP address and he's screwed.

    :D

If I was going to rob a bank I would do it on Halloween. I would enter the bank wearing a Jack in the Box costume and most folks wouldn't think twice about it.

I've seen a number of banks I could take. All in small western towns with law enforcement spread too thin over too many miles.

In some you could even cut off the tellers and loan officers before they could reach the button.

Buy a scanner, wait for something to happen on the other side of the county, go rob bank, drive away to a nearby hiding place, switch cars, shave beard, change clothes, and drive to Vegas.

You wouldn't get rich, but you could do it if you didn't mind taking the chance that something would go wrong.

Why rob banks? How about restaurants? Managers don't give a crap. Employees working minimum wage? You think they're gonna take a bullet for the restaurant? No way! The customers? Forget it. One minute they're eating a Denver Omelette, the next minute they've got a gun in their face. The key is the customer's wallets and purses- make more from that than the register. You cut down on the hero factor quite a bit in these places.

Just remember to be very intimidating and say in a loud, loud voice:

"ALRIGHT, EVERYBODY BE COOL, THIS IS A ROBBERY! ANY OF YOU ****** ****** MOVE, AND I'LL EXECUTE EVERY ************ LAST ONE OF YOU!"

When we were robbed, it was the Friday before Halloween.

Earlier in the week, some losers...er, some folks from corporate came by dressed in costumes and handing out candy. So that Friday, this dude shows up in a Richard Nixon costume with a gun. For a few moments, we all thought it was the folks from corporate again.

    We were wrong.

I thought about this after I saw Heat. If you had a low-grade EMP bomb, you could knock out the truck and all tracking/communications cold. Then you would just have to deal with getting in and taking care of the guards. If you had a big tow truck you could just tow it to a warehouse and take your time.

Yeah there's a flip side to that coin. Say you do got me boxed in and I gotta put you down because no matter what you will not get in my way.

Great movie wish they'd made an alternate ending where he choses to hop that plane and gets away with his girl. Instead he goes after Waingro and gets killed.

I don't think that would work, because the HQ of that truck would know if one of it's trucks suddenly disappeared off the grid and would send people to find it.

Yeah, keeping our money in a safe, secure location; making loans to homeowners, college students and local businesses, what a bunch of horrible bastards.

I don't think it has to be that hard. If you plan the thing correctly and have several plan b's you can get away with it. I mean, you can take all your time to plan something. However, once everything is ready, you need to have the balls to do it.
