Do any of you guys ever get together at a sports bar to watch Rockets games? Or attend games in groups?

I only have one friend who likes the Rockets, but getting him to actually "go out" to watch games is a waste of time. We usually end up at my place or his, but I think it'd be fun to be in a group environment where everyone is excited to watch the Rockets - win or lose.

If a few of you are interested, I'd be happy to host a Rockets party. Maybe for the final game of the season.

I had a similar question not too long ago, but really didn't get much response. I tried the chat once, but its not really my thing.

If you can get something together, you can count me in...

    x34,

I think if we can get at least five ppl then it'd be cool.

Anything less, is well, a waste of time.

I think something in Central Houston would be fair.

    Bar, Compaq Center, wherever..

I think it'd be really fun to get a bunch of rabid Rockets fans in one place to watch and cheer our boys on.

Like I said, I'll be more than happy to organize if enough ppl are interested.

It is a lot of fun for the ones we do here in Austin. I would suggest you pick a game several days away -- maybe next week sometime -- and just announce a get-together for it. Pick a place that's relatively central and say "this is the time and day, please respond if you're interested" and see what kind of response you can get. It might be easier than trying to get a bunch of people to agree on a time and place.

I don't know if Clutch would care, but you might be able to get good response in the main forum if you posted something like that there. I don't really know if that would be considered off-topic or not.

    Thanks for the advice Major.

I'll pick a game for next week and put it in the Rockets forum. I'll have to solicit suggestions for places, since I only know of one central bar (SRO).

    Admins - I hope you don't mind.

    Vengeance & x34.

Do you guys want to plan for something next week at SRO's?

I figure no matter where you live in Houston, SRO is centrally located.

If you guys are in, I'll post something in the Rockets forum to see if we can get some more ppl.

Btw, next week is the West Coast swing, so games will be a little late.

    I'm definitely up for SRO.

I'd be interested as long as it's a road game.

Sounds good to me. Sacramento game?

BTW, I assume you're talking about the SRO on Westheimer and not the one down the street from my place...?

    x34,

Yea, I was talking about the one on Westheimer.

    Man, you live up north?

I'm going to post something in the Rockets forum after dinner to see if anyone else is interested.

Do you think 9:30p is too late for the first gathering?

Sounds great as long as it's in the 2nd half of the week. Next week is my spring break here at SJ. I have to go up to Oklahoma to pick up my new/old car, but I'll be back on Wednesday.

    Ok,

    How about Tuesday, 26Mar02.

Rockets vs. Jazz. This will be a good game, considering what happened on Sunday.

    SRO, on Gessner and Westheimer.

I think next week's games start too late for any of us who work the following morning to attend.

If you guys agree, I'll post this on Rockets forum.

Jazz game sounds great to me, I usually get up for work at 5am, so I don't like to be out too late on weeknights. (I know, pretty lame, but a 9:30 start time really kills me the next day)

    B,

Same here, I'm up at 5a for work. At least I'm in bed while I'm watching those 9:30p games.

Cool, I'll post this in the Rockets forum after the game.
