All I’m reading is Steve lovers and haters going back and forth (although I don't get the hate at all) I just want to know if he's healthy and ready for the season. A healthy steve franics is something this team could really use. A big point that rebounds and makes himself a constant threat on the opposing teams defense because his penetration.
exactly, and that has been the debate and why this thread is 30 something pages. At 31, he is not over-the-hill but not the highlight center all-star he tried so hard to be in his first stint as a Rocket. He is about his money, though, and that is IMO what he tried to bolster early on in his career. Now he is about his last big contract and he will put up some numbers this season, and within the offense or Adelman will sit him like he did last season when he went out of the offense to play his own game. Fortunately, he will not be the only "star" on the team and that should reign in any wild horse stuff he has going on.
Everybody keeps asking for an actual update, well heres a interview Steve just recently did. He talks about Houston, last season, his current condition (says he lots 10 pounds, game shape by next month), Ron Artest trade, and how far this new team will go. He sounds very humbled and determined to help the team in any way. http://s.sohu.com/20080828/n259259543.shtml
Man I appreciate the update, I hope he is ready to show that he belongs. I want him to be a part of the rotation, but he is going to have to prove it because we have a deep squad this year.
thx for the update. nice to hear from stevie again. he looks a lot skinnier than having just lost 10 pounds. we know he wants to play. let's just hope he earns and gets his chance to prove himself.
I really can't wait for stevie to get back, I have much love and respect for him, because he reciprocates that love back towards the city of Houston and its fans. I am and have been pulling for him to get back to the beastly position that he used to be in, and with him at a 100% there is no doubt in my mind that we will not only escape the first round, but take home the ring.
Good lookin out....our PG depth chart should be Alston,Francis,Brooks....in that order..and occasionally Barry/Mcgrady
Thanks Angkor, good find. Hopefully it will dispell some of the doubt going around about his health and the year ahead. I thought he gave some realistic answers. This next year should be 1000% better. He is should be in game shape by training camp, but I take that with a small grain of salt meaning he is getting there but is still working on it. Knows that it will take time for them to jell and see what works good when and with who at any particular time are on the court. Not interested so much in the "NBA" party life, and is more concerned about how he performs this year. And, no playoff wins, rings or titles to his name yet and sees his best opportunity up to this point to get them.
it's steve and luis attenting Anta's Commuical event, (this morning) in GuangZhou, China. Steve siad himself earlier in a interview with a chinese reporter that he's been rehab and training really hard and lost 10 pounds this summer, and was really confident and looking forword to the coming season. i like what i see (steve in shape) in the pictures... (sounds like bonzi situation last summer) photos. enjoy..
HEY Scola - Be ready to receive some of those Alleyoops he use to send CATO Man . . I like that Jacket Not anyone can wear that . . .but i can make it work See the Chinese Fans get . . .why can't some of you haters? Rocket River
Man, Steve sounds hungry to me, he looks as well fit as possible under recovery from surgery circumstances. I'm pulling for him, honestly, this guy has a heart for Houston. He would cover out biggest weakness right now, PG play behind Rafer.
He looks very good...luckily for him there is no pressure on him this season, so really any production would be welcomed.
