I'm thinking of switching from Comcast to Winstream (since some members here said it was good) and I have a few questions: 1. How much does it cost monthly? The Windstream site only tells me their promotional offer and not the actual price per month. I'm paying $40 per month in comparison for 6 mbps. 2. Is there a contract and if there is, is it only up to a year (since the promotion is 12 months)? 3. Are there any download caps or upload throttling or any of that stuff? It didn't hurt me when I was with Comcast since their cap is pretty high. I just don't want ridiculous caps like Time Warner is doing. Also, does Windstream throttle speeds during busy hours? I don't really know if it factors into it, but I use a Windstream phone line. Of course, I don't really know any other ISPs in my area since Windstream is the only one sending me mail.
I called after one poster raved about it. Turns out they don't provide service to us Northern Houstonians. I live in Harris County, so if you live near there don't bother.
I have windstream, its freaking awesome. Huge improvement over comcast that I had previously and especially much better than that sbc crap. I got the 6 down service, get like 400-700 k on torrent downloads. We payed like 24 a month for about 6 months, and now its like 39 or something... no contract
