On the surface, it appears the Rockets are gonna keep the core of this team together.

Francis, Mobes, KT, Cato, SA, and even *gulp* Walt.

my question is, how long should this team be given to make it to the playoffs before the core are broken up?

How long would you wallow in this Clipper hell(ok, mebbe not THAT bad) until you decide its time to change?

    1 year? 2 years? 3?

Personally, I would give this team 1-2 years to make the playoffs before I would start screaming for a trade that would "break-up" the young guys. If they cant do it in that amount of time, then this core isn't worth keeping.

If they don't at least *almost* make the playoffs next year , it's gonna start getting miserable around here. I'm just waiting to see how many of the next 18 games they can win, consider all post-season moves , and then I'll decide on what I expect for next year. 2 years is too long to wait though!

I say 2 years! I also say trade Walt and Drew. Retire Dream.
I am not used to watching the playoffs and the Rockets are not there. I will have to find something else to do.
