    Raefer - Brooks - Francis - Strawberry
    McGrady - Barry - Head
    Artest - Battier
    Scola - Landry - Hayes - Harris - Ewing
    Yao - Mutumbo - Dorsey

Uhmmm well I wonder who's in line to get cut?

Could it be Strawberry no guarantee contract and Ewing a throw in from the Artest trade?

    Team is stacked on Paper.

guys guys guys morey knew what he was doing allll along. he took those two guys as cost cutters. he will wave DJ. and will try to trade the other legends son ewing junior. for someone they can cut and not have to pay. just have to find a taker.

so you pretty much give 2 late 1st round pics and very close to dead weight bobby jackson. for ron artest with 2 guys to get off the books one of which is done.

thats how i see it pan out. and when it ALL boils down to it once you take that money away you have pretty equal money so its 2 pics for a one year rental of artest. if he sucks you waive him and have that left over money just in time for the next season left over after that you have yao and tmac coming up and then he has to work the magic. or if we win then you have artest with a new contract and then it all worked.

time will tell (it will be a fun ride)

ps go steve francis. im rooting for you buddy

The Phoenix boards speak really highly of Strawberry.

Their logic is that it was a cost cutting move for the Phx front office since Singletary makes 400K and Strawberry makes 700K. Also they needed insurance just in case Dragic is a bust.

They said that Strawberry never got a fair chance, he has intense swagger and has the ability to be a player in this league. According the the Phx guys on SportsNation

    Promising

i disagree see above. our team is stocked we are not making any more moves to bring guys in unless they are a starting point guard. or 6 or 7th player off the bench. and thats it. i promise you morey is not going to pay extra money for a guy to sit on the end of the bench.

I'm thinking Morey's got a trade in the works for Luther.

Strawberry is taller, can handle, stronger, has court vision, can put the ball on the floor for the dunk

He'll be 3rd string behind Barry anyways, if he's our 2-guard. I think they could be grooming him to be Luther's replacement.

Trading Luther for a 2nd rounder, and developing Strawberry saves the Rockets $1 Million

Strawberry can't shoot a lick. He shot 32 percent from the field last year and couldn't average more than 11 points a game in college.

Whatever we do with Strawberry, this was a pretty smart move. From the looks of things I think, as many others do, this is part of another deal in the making.

But should we keep him or trade him? He looks more athletic than the other role players in our camp but has his shot improved enough for him to take Head's old minutes. Which would probably get decreased due to the signings and trades we've made so far.

No matter what we do I know it'll help the team not hurt em.

    His minutes were pretty sporadic

Reminds me of Monte Ellis' first year when he rode the pine alllll year, and his 2nd year came around and Don Nelson gave him a chance and his numbers went through the roof. Not that Strawberry is Eliss.

It's hard to be in rhythm when get garbage minutes.

“He’s got a shot to make it,” general manager Daryl Morey said. “He’s different. He’s athletic, can really defend multiple guard spots."

Love him or hate him, he'll get a look.

Loooking at our Roster ( just kidding!) are we going to sign Mutombo and Landry? Are we going to trade Head? It's difficult for me to see where Strawberry fits into our roster. Possibly it was to save money. Cutting him will cost us nothing but the player just traded had money coming to him if he was cut. I would still like to see Morey bring at least one more quality player to our team! Y.

Both Patrick Ewing Jr. and Sean Singletary have a Trade Restriction, it looks like Morey is dumping them for tradeable players to package a nice little deal together for some pieces the Rockets can actually use this up coming season. I don't see Strawberry staying with the Rockets long.

    No, and no.

Anyone posturing for DJ as a replacement for Luther has got to be kidding. They are two completely different players. DJ's shooting makes Luther look like Steve Novak. DJ might play better defense, but he's yet another small SG. Wouldn't call him undersized since he's listed at 6'5", but definitely not strong enough to guard the big 2s in the league.

Someone said that his contract isn't guaranteed while Singletary's is. It's probably a cost-cutting move and he'll probably get waived.

Since we'll match just about any offer that Landry can reasonably get, we don't have much room to work with on the roster anyway. Strawberry and Ewing Jr are goners.

All traded players get slapped with an one month restriction where they can't be packaged in a trade.

DJ is not a bad player. he has the ability to be a solid contributer in a defensive oriented team like our. he has the ability to stay infront of he's man and is athletic enough to be a solid slashing type offensive player. also due to he's non-guranteed contract, he would cost us nothing to cut.
