Please correct me if I am wrong. I thought it has been clarified that the switch was not because the other girl was not good looking enough. It was because the more cute looking girl did not sing well enough so they replaced her singing with the other girl. So the switch was done because of the poor singing of the cute girl, not the look of the other girl. I think this has been widely-reported in the latter news.
My English must be so bad for you to misunderstand like this. Doesn't "sound" have other meanings beside "voice"? The controversial point of the story that China lip-synced with another girl's voice, just like Australia played MSO's records while SSO was on stage.
